Reviews of Adena Regional Medical Center
"My family tells me my body went down hill fast after second lung surgery I was not aware of life. My body was shutting down my wife ,daughter and daughter in law who is a nurse got me out of there to a hospital i live by. Where I started to live and come back to the human race."
"This is a great place to go if you want to make several trips in a week because it literally takes 6 different ER doctors and an orthopedic specialist to diagnose something as simple as a herniated disc. When the sciatica is so bad you're passing out and going into shock and the doctors laugh at you and call you a drug addict (never done drugs in my life). I nearly lost my leg due to the nerves almost being severed and I had ER doctors pointing and laughing at me. If they would have given me an MRI like I demanded on my first visit I could have avoided an entire week of not sleeping and consistently going in and out of shock which was very traumatic. I complained to the people in charge and they said the doctors pointing and laughing at me being unable to walk was them following policy so corporate obviously condones this behavior as well."
"Not happy at all. My mother was admitted on 12/21 and released on 12/27. Was unable to speak to a doctor or a nurse the whole time she was there. My daughter ended up giving her grandma a sponge bath because she was left in filth, her catheter blew and they still hooked up antibiotics to it. And the biggest complaint I have is they released her to a nursing facility and not a signal one of her family members were told. So we spent the morning calling different facilities to find her."
"I wish I had the ability to give a zero rating. I cannot think of a single reason why anyone would go to this hospital, even in an emergency situation. My last and final visit there was by squad. Once I got to the hospital with extreme abdominal pain, the staff put me in the hallway. It took nearly three hours before I was moved to a room. It was then another three hours and no one came in to help, let alone triage. I walked out barefoot and went north to Berger hospital. Within 15 minutes I was getting treatment at Berger. I hope regulators and the state shut down the Adena network in it’s entirety."
"Had my hysterectomy there this past weds, couldn’t wait to leave the next morning because they didn’t care about me being in pain, if I’m going to suffer from having my stomach cut open for the 4th time, I’ll suffer in comfort in my home. Most of them expect you to feel better the next day & think that pain management isn’t important after having a major abdominal surgery. (One nurse I had in the night was good & helped me out) that was it. Out of all the medical professionals during my stay, One single nurse took care of me properly & had great bedside manners. Another nurse claimed I needed something for anxiety & assumed I was taking medication for it when I was screaming in so much pain. I don’t have anxiety & I don’t take medication for it. They knew the medications I took when I went into have my surgery. I had been getting myself out of bed each time after my surgery to use the restroom even though I was a “fall risk”. It was like pulling teeth to even get a stomach pill for the gas in my chest. It’s absolutely insane how they treat people. This wasn’t my only bad experience here. I should’ve known better to have a major surgery at this hospital. Please listen to me when I say go to Columbus… go anywhere but Adena hospital!!"
