Eastgate Preschool

Eastgate Preschool, located at 2121 Ashland Street in Louisville, Ohio, is a well-respected institution that serves children from all 17 school districts in Stark County. Our comprehensive early childhood education curriculum follows the Ohio Learning Content Standards and is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education's Office of Early Learning and School Readiness.

Our preschool programs offer a full day of classes Monday through Thursday, either at Eastgate Early Childhood & Family Center or at satellite locations within local school district buildings. Each classroom has up to 8 children with special needs and up to 6 typically developing peers, with a maximum of 12 students per room. Our staff is highly qualified and dedicated to providing the best possible services to all children.

At Eastgate Early Childhood & Family Center, we offer specialized curriculum for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or related diagnoses, using Applied Behavior Analysis principles for individualized instruction. Our program focuses on developing independence, self-help skills, and academic readiness in preparation for kindergarten.

Typically developing children in our classrooms serve as role models for language development and social skills, receiving individualized tutoring on academic readiness skills. Our goal is to support choices and create opportunities for people with disabilities and their families.

Stark DD has a long history of providing community-based services in Stark County, with roots dating back to 1953. Today, we are governed by a seven-member board and work to leverage federal, state, and local funds to provide essential services to children and adults with disabilities. We are proud to be a part of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.
