Select Specialty Hospital - Cleveland Fairhill

"I am currently at Select Specialty Hospital~Fairhill. I have been here for two weeks. My stay has been interesting to say the least. I had a nurse, Miss Kristen, go so far and above for me that I want to shout it from the rooftops!!!! I was not even assigned to her, and the level of care she provided and the time she took to address ALL of my needs, is truly exemplary. I have been hospitalized for TWO MONTHS. She is in the top 1% of nurses that have cared for me during my ordeal!! I wish every nurse had just a little of Kristen's work ethic and dedication to patient care."

"Furniture in areas are really dirty. All the bathrooms were not cleaned correctly or everyday. Cleanliness is minimal throughout the floors. Low staff nurses are turning patients with tracheostomy workout any assistance causing patient trach pain to the point that the family need to help assisting. This is unacceptable.."

"This place is horrible! From lack of supplies to incompetent/lazy staff and this is just the first day. We(the family) had to ask for a urinal, they were out of pillows, someone from the infection team/department attempted to suction him(epic fail), call light on for well over 45 minutes while the nurse sat out in the hall, never answered. When asked to suction our family member, the same nurse said that she would page respiratory while we wait and watch him in distress. Respiratory came and informed us that the nurse is capable of doing so, she just chose not to. The one star is because I couldn't post without it. Would not recommend this place."

"My fiancé has been admitted to this facility and has been here for about a month. The staff has been so kind and supportive and patient with me and our boys. They have also put in all their efforts to cater to my fiancé and his growing needs for healing. The atmosphere is also very calm and comfortable."

My first impression during that brief time was that Select was a very well managed community with a welcoming family like environment, which encouraged me to make the transition. It has been several months since the Fairhill location has welcomed me as part of the family. as it turns out, my first impression was correct, and I have found all of the staff, nursing and non-nursing, very welcoming and eager to help. Select is a fantastic organization that I would recommend to anybody for care and employment."
