Reviews of Riverside School
"you shouldn't send your kids here the teachers curse and mr roach looks at little kids only good teacher is mr dipuccio"
"Mr.Monel is a really nice assistant principal. He makes the kids laugh. Here r some nice teachers my kids have had Mrs.Larson,Ms.Novàk,Ms.Beam,Ms.Hardy also Ms.Hawkins Ms.Morris and Mrs.Reynolds."
"This was my first experience with an elementary school. I have never seen anything so disorganized in my life. It is absolutely ridiculous. Parking/drop-off and pick up is an absolute nightmare. Getting e-mails/phone calls from the school are not helpful whatsoever they're basically advertisement. It doesn't give any good information about what's going on at the school. The secretary is extremely rude and not helpful at all. The Kindergarten class was signed up for teeball or softball or something and then the games and practices just never happened and there was no more correspondence about it either. It took them 2 weeks to figure out who was parking where and where kindergarten was dropping off/picking up. 2 weeks. it was ridiculous. The most capable member of the staff that I've seen is the male security guard that handles the front entrance; he treats the kids LIKE KIDS! He high-fives them, makes sure their book bags are zipped up. He knows them all by name. Unfortunately this man is the only guy that's worth dealing with in this school."
"This school is unbearably sad. I hope you heed my warning. It's a beautiful new school in the middle of a quiet neighborhood which is quite appealing but the teachers, administration, and fellow parents are a complete joke. My son is in the advanced class and his teacher sends home a weekly letter that, since week 1, is completely riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. It makes me cringe. She gives at least an hour of homework every night which ranges nonsensically from 4+4 to long division. It's clearly just printed from some random internet page. She has also instructed these young minds that zero is in fact an even number. Are you serious?! I received a call home from the principal that my son was in an "altercation" . It consisted of him (8 years old) going to the bathroom and being punched in the stomach by a 13 year old! The kid was a "problem child" just roaming the hallways I guess. I was happy they contacted me and they seemed to take good care of my son after the incident, but when I went in for conferences and asked the teacher SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. Then clearly realized she had no idea and said "yes the kids use the restroom". Are you joking me? I've twice came and picked my son up in the car line and there were no teachers or anything. kindergartners and 1st graders just wandering through traffic. Parent's flying up the wrong side of the street to try and pick their kid up faster. I asked my son where the teachers were and he said they were just talking inside and didn't come out today. Just go to the website for this school. It's a generic webpage generated by the garbage CMSD. Call the number listed. It doesn't even work. Go to the calendar of events. You can't see anything that's on there and there's no times listed for early release days. Guess you just have to know. There is zero communication to parents. You had better be ready to go into the school and pick up flyers. If you do go in, expect to be confronted by an extremely rude office assistant. Truly I don't blame her. You can't expect ONE SINGLE PERSON to handle every person and phone call that comes in. Just one. For a K-8 school. I thought it looked ok and people seemed nice. I feel regretful my child wasted a year of his life here. Parents who think this school is nice have clearly not seen what a nice school is like."
"Great school. Great staff. But a LOT of pick-up traffic after school. Not their fault though. They do the best they can. Would refer this school to anyone searching for a top quality education."
