Reviews of Maple Heights Behavioral Health Hospital
"I recently had a stay here and from the moment of arrival staff was caring, understanding, and patient. This continued throughout my entire stay and I just thought the facility itself is nice, clean, and accommodating. I can't thank the staff and therapists enough. While I hope that things will be good enough to not have to return, I don't think I could've landed in a better place because the help I received did just that, helped very much"
"HIPPA please investgate before more patients are harmed, Duty of care has failed here. I went cold turkey on psyc med because Smitha Patibandla made error on documents she put it as home med but I started it at inpatient and can't get it and my systoms are bad. Well I was helped and undone by Maple Behavioral Heights in a week. I started with a smart psychiatrist we agreed to take me off seroqual and start 2 meds and it worked well. Then I was switched to me to Smitha Patibandla, who failed me as a patient when I was discharged she didn't order my new med so I spent 4 days calling them to ask her to do it and the nurses told me they would inform her, final day of calling I was told out of system, I took the only pill given to me. I called my new psyc provider and told I would have to wait until 24th. There is no acooutabilty for any wrong doing by nurses, techs and psyc it is more trauma they can do without disaplin to treat you howevere they want and worse if you check in. Smitha Patibandla, failed for three days to give order for med increase and had no reason for not doing it, she just forgot 3 days in a row. During 2nd amit she shared another patient's name, diagnosis, and more in front of me over phone, a HIPPA violation and disregard to Patient RIGHTS. She discontinued one of the new meds without informing me an alert patient. I requested for 3 days and filled out a complaint form for some else to do my meds never got one. On a unit has 3 community rooms, one for use but can't be there long because it's cold. Second room is for groups but they don't use it bc it's really cold. Third room is used by all activities, groups and TV. Another room for all but not used except for doctor and patient private talk. Another small room to talk in with worker. Comfort room is a 1-2 patient room, but comfort it is not it has a plastic chair to rock in. So there are 5 community rooms but only 1 community area and basic room, 4 areas are not used.there are great techs and nurses. But others will be so cold and lost the meaning of mental health. One night a tech ordered me to my room and kept asking if I was ready to sign an AMA form. They kept pushing my buttons to trigger me by not listening to me, I asked for three days for another NP or psychiatrist and never happened. One morning two nurses told us to get up or they would send us to 400 hall. No pens in our room to journal had to do it in public room. This was my third stay but 1st and second times the workers were supportive and helpful, this time was a nightmare of mental torture and just cold and meals were hits and too many misses."
"My loved on is getting help there and from the first moment you enter you are greated with empathy and understanding. My loved one was listened too, was made to feel safe and comfortable. I have had fantastic communication with everyone working to give my love one a new lease of life. 10/10 recommended for under 18 patients"
"During my stay at Maple Heights Behavioral Health Hospital, there was no organization whatsoever. They couldn't seem to stick to the schedule, so it was very confusing as to what activity or class was next. No one could seem to agree on the rules, even though the rules were clearly posted on the walls. The staff would sit around muttering profanity and quietly complaining about the organization of the facility themselves. The food was extremely difficult to eat with a spork. They really need some sort of eating utensil that works better but is still safe, or they need to adjust their menu so that it can be more easily eaten with a spork. If you happen to be an extended plus-sized patient, please make sure to bring your own clothes. Their scrubs and gowns are not likely to fit. My stay there was totally unexpected. I lived several hours away and wasn't prepared at all for this place. I only had the clothes I arrived in. So I ended up spending 6 days in Maple Heights, washing and re-wearing the same clothes every single day. I wear a 3X, but they were completely unprepared for someone my size. I realize it is a newer facility. However I really feel like all of these issues only increased my stress and anxiety, rather than helping. I sincerely hope that things have improved since my stay there."
"Wow what a experience. Great staff and restaurant style food. Very caring staff and very helpful also. I was only there two days but man they sure did help a lot. I learned a lot while I was there. Best hospital ever. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I went there voluntarily and wasn’t able to leave the moment I wanted too. Waiting around 12 hours"
