"Embarking on a spontaneous trip from Dayton to Cincinnati, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the delectable delights of Mac's Pizza. Accompanied by my beloved best friend and wife, we eagerly stepped into the restaurant, only to be greeted by a pristine and immaculate environment. Our table was impeccably clean, devoid of any sticky residue, and emitted an aura of utmost cleanliness. The tantalizing aroma that filled the air only added to our anticipation. Even the restroom facilities were spotless, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to hygiene. My main objective in visiting Mac's Pizza was to explore their array of vegan options. Opting for a classic-style pizza topped with plant-based cheese, I embarked on a culinary journey that left me with mixed feelings. The pizza, while not reaching the heights of perfection, still managed to leave an impression. The sauce, though lacking the distinct taste of a homemade creation, was far from disappointing. In fact, it harmonized beautifully with the overall pizza experience. The vegetables, while evoking hints of food service origins, possessed a refreshing quality and provided a pleasing texture. As for the pizza crust, I suspected it may have been sourced from the freezer, yet it still held its own. Although the texture seemed slightly askew, I appreciated its satisfying chewiness and its ability to support the weight of the toppings and sauce. However, my primary concern lay with the plant-based cheese. Upon baking, it hardened and developed a crusty texture, which was less than ideal. This type of cheese supposed to be placed directly on top of sauce which causes cheese to fully melt. I hold no grudges against Mac's Pizza for this, as it is a common misstep made by restaurants unfamiliar with the intricacies of using plant-based cheese correctly. Due to its lack of fats, the vegan cheese should ideally be partially cooked with sauce prior to adding other ingredients, allowing it to melt seamlessly and envelop the other ingredients in a luscious, gooey embrace. This, in my opinion, is the epitome of a well-presented pizza pie. Example: Pizza dough, Sauce and then plant base cheese and of course other toppings. However, most restaurants will cook the first three ingredients together from 1 to 3 min depending on oven temperature adding other toppings. Restaurants with oven temps above 500 degrees generally don’t experienced this issue and all ingredients are cooked together long as vegan cheese is on top of sauce. Same goes for sandwich’s using plant based cheese with additional step: sauce and cheese are mixed in a bowl together and placed on bread. Few restaurants also do this for pies. But never place vegan cheese on the very top. I am fully aware that plant-based options are still relatively new to many restaurants, and thus, I refrained from voicing my concerns to the staff. Instead, I offered them a friendly suggestion for improvement. I must commend the exceptional friendliness and warmth of the Mac's Pizza staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. Meanwhile, my wife decided to indulge in the meatball sub, which she found to be truly delightful. However, she did note that a touch more sauce would have enhanced the overall experience, as the sub leaned slightly towards the dry side. Nevertheless, the abundance of cheese and the flavorful meatballs made up for this minor drawback. It is important to mention that her order was not of the plant-based variety, as she is not a vegan herself. I am looking forward to revisiting this restaurant and wishing they’ve used my suggestion. So please go visit Mac’s all of you vegans, great place to eat and enjoy drinks. ."
