"We celebrated Valentine's Day at the Precint and had a wonderful, private and romantic experience. Nice low red lighting in a beautiful old vine covered building that used to be the police precint. We started with Blue Crab Bisque, and the Merry Mint Colada cocktail which I reccomend for any colada fans. My entre was the barrel cut filet with "Collinsworth" topping. My lovely Selina had the Lobster Gnocchi which is heavy and tasty but very bacon forward. I loved the Collinsworth style which is Red King Crab meat badically oscar style but also a nice brown sauce under the meat. We will be back and I will try the creole sauce. Our dessert was the table side flambeed Baked Alaska. Attaching some photos. We valet parked right at the building for just $5. Lovely experience and service."
"Valentine's Day dinner with my sweetheart tonight and went to one of our favorite places. The Precinct has always been one our favorite of the Ruby restaurants. We were seated promptly and it slowed down quite a bit from there in. Although, I will say it was very relaxing where others may get a bit frustrated. We started with Oysters Rockefeller, which is always amazing! We both had the Filet and Lobster so next up was the Freddie Salad, very good. The Filet and Lobster were both prepared to perfection. The Valentine's Day dessert special was awesome! The food was excellent as always and would highly recommend. The slow service was an isolated incident and one we could empathize with. Really appreciate the effort!"
"Upon relocating to Cincinnati a few months ago, The Precinct came highly recommended, prompting me to explore what it had to offer. With expectations set from the establishment's website, I ventured to experience this reputed fine dining locale firsthand. I made it a point to arrive early, aiming for a seat at the bar. However, the repeated reminders of 'first come, first serve' from several patrons upon entry felt redundant and somewhat overwhelming, detracting from the upscale dining ambiance the restaurant is known for. My dining experience was further marred by overhearing servers and managers openly discuss a recent visit from corporate, which seemed out of place for a fine dining environment and interrupted the enjoyment of my meal. Observations around the physical upkeep of The Precinct raised concerns as well: - The bar surface appeared worn and in need of resurfacing. - The flooring throughout the venue showed signs of wear and could benefit from renovation. - I noticed uneven stairs, posing a potential safety risk. - The mismatch in height between the bar stools and the bar itself made it uncomfortable to dine without hunching over. On a positive note, the valet service was efficient and reasonably priced, although the safety of the staff, dressed in all black and navigating public roads, could be significantly improved with the addition of reflective gear. Reflecting on my visit, it seems The Precinct may prioritize profit over the quintessential fine dining experience it advertises. Given the limited operating hours, there seems ample opportunity for necessary maintenance and enhancements to ensure the establishment meets its esteemed reputation. In conclusion, while my anticipation was met with enthusiasm, the reality fell short of the high expectations set by the hype surrounding The Precinct."
"Out of all the Jeff Ruby restaurants, The Precinct is hands down my favorite of the bunch. From the cozy atmosphere, to the history of the building, to the great location. This place truly has it all. I recommend the Caesar salad, the Delmonico (16 Oz boneless ribeye) as well as the maple smoked old fashioned. A must visit if you are in Cincinnati."
"Really enjoyed my time there on New Year’s Eve to New Year’s. We had an awesome server, I believe his name was Matt. The food was good as usual, and they even provided champagne at midnight."
