"First they ran out of the char boiled oysters. This is what I came for. But I'm a trooper so I tried something else. I'm from New Orleans so I know the difference. This is a Cajun place because the food is darker. It's ok. Service is excellent. The sweet tea isn't sweet. The ambiance is Cajun. The food is ok. Didn't get to try the char boiled oysters because they were out. However the crawfish etouffee is more Cajun style . It's dark and the roux over powers the flavor of the dish. Seems like they used a lot of File to thicken the roux. You can greatly smell it. You can't taste the crawfish at all. Cajuns usually don't use file. There roux is more black . The jambalaya is smoky Cajun style not creole style. It doesn't taste that much different from the crawfish etouffee. The same roux must be used. The gator isn't favorable at all. It could be chicken and you wouldn't know the difference. The breading has very little flavor. The greens are the best. Get the greens. They play only country music and no zydeco. Bummer. I will be back. Update I came back and got the charbroiled oysters. They are good but not acme in new Orleans."
"First timer and extremely impressed. Large portions, great selection food. I had catfish and fries and salad. All great. Other 3 in my party had boil dish. Shrimp were large and yummy according to friends. Great service. Definitely will go back."
"Swamp Water Grill offers a culinary adventure that perfectly captures the essence of the swamp with its delectable menu and vibrant atmosphere. The standout dish was undeniably the gator bites – a unique and flavorful delicacy that showcased the restaurant's commitment to providing an authentic experience. The crisp, well-seasoned exterior gave way to succulent and tender alligator meat, creating a memorable gastronomic experience. The overall taste of the food at Swamp Water Grill was exceptional, with a diverse menu that caters to various preferences. From Southern-inspired dishes to seafood delights, each item seemed crafted with care and attention to detail. The restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and skillful preparation truly elevated the dining experience. Service at Swamp Water Grill was nothing short of fantastic. The staff exuded warmth and friendliness, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Attentive and knowledgeable, the servers enhanced our overall enjoyment by offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that our needs were met promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant, complemented by rustic decor and subtle swamp-themed elements, added to the overall charm of the dining experience. Swamp Water Grill successfully combines delicious cuisine with exceptional service, making it a must-visit for those seeking a taste of the Southern culinary scene in a welcoming and lively setting."
"Clean, quaint "on the bayou" ambiance. Attentive, friendly servers and bartenders. (Nick was the bomb, and he's cute!) The food was served hot, fresh and delicious - my catfish was fried to perfection, the cheese grits were to die for, and the collard greens were tender and tasted as close to homemade as one could expect at a restaurant. The thing I most appreciate about the food here is that it's FLAVORFUL. There is a balance of herbs, spices, and salt, not just the overly salty taste that I've experienced at similar restaurants. I can't wait to return and try some of the other menu items. Oh, and don't forget to order a Swamp Juice (or two) in the keepsake jar!"
