"I went two weekends in a row, so that is saying something. The first time I went, it was with a friend, and she ate all of her food. The next time I took my son and he ate all of his food. The prices are reasonable. The location is convenient for me. I'd say this is a place the locals frequent (I'll probably be one). The staff is friendly and attentive enough. The food is good, and the menu offers a range of selections but is not overbearing. The place is clean, and so is the bathroom (both times I've visited). They also have clean kitchen awards on the door when you walk inside."
"My wife and I just had a delightful breakfast here today. We both had omelets that were just delectable. The restaurant is very, very clean and the service was quick and efficient and pleasant. We have never been served our orders faster in any restaurant, ever; and we are both in our 60's."
"Pretty awful place. Super conservative vibes, plus the food is horrible. Who freezes their pancakes and reheats them??? Is it that hard to make a pancake that you can’t make them fresh? Coffee was gross and tables are sticky. Restaurant smells like a moldy funeral home. Probably time for a health inspection. Way too expensive for how bad it was. Gives the west side a bad name."
"Just had the pleasure of dining here recently. I've lived just a few houses away for the past 6 years but only just tried it for the first time and was not disappointed. I'm in my early 30s and this place reminds me of simpler times. The food tastes like you just had a home-cooked meal from mom with the family. It's absolutely fantastic and makes me feel home. I ordered the pot roast and it was fork tender, the dark gravy was flavorful and most importantly, to me, the food was HOT! Too many places are comfortable serving cold food lately. The service was also great. I don't have anything negative to say about this place. The owner and his father even said hello to us and made us feel welcomed. I'll definitely be back and I'd easily recommend this place anyone I know."
"I will say that I can understand the charm of a one-of-a-kind neighborhood staple with friendly people and decent food. But my wife and I were expecting more, given the ratings, and we're simply underwhelmed. Pluses: Food came out fast, bacon was perfectly crispy, fruit was fresh, customers and staff were nice. Minuses: pancakes and french toast tasted/looked like they weren't cooked to order but had been in a warmer or been microwaved . . . Which kinda aligns with how oddly fast our food came out. The place is in need of updates and renovations to both the building and the plates, glasses, utensils they use. I think if our food had been amazing or maybe if the prices were a bit lower I would have overlooked the cosmetics . . . But it just wasn't impressive overall."
