"October 2023 They apparently have such a high staff turnover rate that staff is nearly always new so they haven't been trained for their jobs very well. I tried to use the buy online, pickup in store, & for some unknown reason, my order was cancelled without notifying me. I went to the store during the scheduled pickup time anyway & was told that they were having problems with their "hand helds" & they didn't have time to get my order anyway. I then did my own shopping only to find out that all of my coupons had been used on the now cancelled pickup order. Almost every time I use digital coupons, something goes wrong & the teller has to manually input them while she says multiple times, "If I can't get it to go through like this, there's nothing I can do." (Hello? Override button?) Also, for being the main shopping choice in the area, their selection is less than what is needed and their everyday prices are too expensive. Other DGs in small towns carry basic produce like lettuce, potatoes & onions. Onion rings & frozen French fries don't count. The price of staples like bread, milk and frozen foods are double the price of Walmart. That being said, on most Saturdays, they have $5 off of a $25 purchase with a coupon. If you register with an email and a phone number, they offer digital coupons. (That may or may not work so watch your receipt.) If you watch their sales ads and combine them with their digital coupons, their prices can't be beaten if they can actually get them to work once you get to the register."
"Manager is rude and closes every opportunity she can. When she is there, she's manically frustrated and shouting about how she needs to leave. At closing time if she's there, the store closes early every time! I agree with the other reviews that the employees are amazing! Hardworking, trying their best. They need better leadership!"
"The manager over this store and multiple others, she cursed and yelled at my siblings, kicked them out, then proceeded to follow them in her car, shine her brights and follow them close behind. My sisters were scared and honestly did not understand what her issue was. This is not the first time I have heard of her screaming and cursing at kids, this is sad!! My mom went inside after the incident to ask her what happened and she screamed at my mother who was talking very calmly. This is beyond sad and I’m calling corporate tomorrow."
"Absentee GM! I stopped in several times to see what applications are open for this store because there are none online. I was told times when the GM should be there, but she never was. Was supposed to get a call yesterday but I'm guessing the GM never came in. No wonder why they don't have help, they arent even looking! Then I found out the darker haired ladies I thought were managers are just part time, and they're running the whole store! It's obvious these women care about their job way more than their boss, and for that I have to give them a couple stars. I feel bad for them though, I mean after learning what their District Manager let's their GMs get away with its no wonder why all the Dollar Generals around here look like a tornado recently hit them. I certainly wouldn't want a job working for them! But good luck to those few dedicated part timers, I hope they find a leader that appreciates them."
"I went to buy at this store, an employee followed us through the aisles to my car, she told me that she did not want us to return to her store, when I asked the reason, she said that we had damaged merchandise, I told her that I would pay for the damage (believing that one of the he had broken something without me noticing) he just had to show me what was damaged, we entered the store and he showed me a box of false nails which seemed strange to me since we had not stopped in that area, I told him to show the cameras and only showed me a part of the video where I was choosing a cream. I insisted on reviewing the cameras since she began to accuse me that I had done it and that I had also stolen something, when seeing the cameras it was clearly shown that neither I nor the children had damaged or stolen their products, since the employee did not have proof he kicked us out of the store in the most rude way and threatened to call the police to which I told him it was no problem as I was innocent of everything I was accused of. Clearly I will not buy from this store again."
