Reviews of 76 Big Boss Stores
"Just left the store. I usually come on weds for the .50 cent chicken fingers. This special is weds only. I also buy a side and a drink at regular price and sometimes gas. The fingers are what brings me in. Today my total was way higher. I asked why, she said the price of chicken has gone way up.The fingers are now 1.69 a piece and no one warned me. So anyways ,I didn't buy it. #1 someone could have warned me. #2 chicken has not gone up over 200%. Anyways now they lost all my business. I could understand a price increase, but not over 200%."
"Since the store changed hands a year or 2 ago it has really deteriorated. The lady in the kitchen and the cashier both have serious attitudes. A week ago I ordered biscuit and gravy with 2 eggs. They forgot the eggs, which I didn't notice until we got home. When we were there just today a guy came in complaining they forgot his cheese on his eggs. They just handed him a slice of cheese. My wife mentioned our previous experience and she just waved my wife off saying "I'm just the cashier." When we got home, today, they had forgotten my wife's bacon. This used to be our favorite breakfast place, 2 years ago. No more. Gave 1 extra star because the food is still pretty good, but the service sucks which earns 1 star. Will find a new favorite breakfast place."
"Would have given a zero if I could. My complaint is that the cook plays his music too loud. (Wear hearing protection). I have hearing problems and most of the time I can't hear what they're charging me. They're the only store that sells what I buy, otherwise, I would go to Tom Thumb or CEFCO. The counter people know I have a hard time hearing them and go out of their way to help me. I told the manager about it and it was reasonable for awhile. This is the week of Thanksgiving so maybe she's on vacation (while the cat's away). I reviewed the reviews and your ratings were a lot better than they have been recently. I see where the owner answers some of these. If you answer this one, if you will, include your phone number and I'll call you and you can hear for yourself. Sincerely, Dennis I want to thank you for the quick response to my complaint. I have worked in several Quality Assurance Dept over the years and good service needs to be recognized. I was amazed you gave me your phone number. That told me, "This guy is serious". I have you on speed dial and hope I never have to use it. Went back today and had a great experience. would rate it 5 stars. I will monitor the store for a week and give an update. Thanks to you, Janet, & Missy for taking the time and patience to help with my complaint. Sincerely, Dennis I'm ready to go back to a 5 star rating. I just had my bestest (Missy) visit ever. When I walked in the music was playing, but, at a volume I could hardly hear. After I had gotten my stuff and made it to the counter, the cook had turned off the music. I was amazed and know he did this out of respect for my feelings. I want to thank him for his consideration and at the volume he had it at was just great and I could hear everything I was asked and the amount I needed to pay. Thanks to everyone for helping me with this. A thoroughly satisfied customer, Dennis"
"The last 3 times I have gone here, the card readers at the pump do not work. Once I went and all card readers were down, cash only for everything, so I wonder if the continued problem is related to that. The next time I went, I simply went inside and paid ahead, no problem. But my most recent trip...I went inside to pay since the card reader did not work. The manager was up front on a cell phone, it sounded like a personal call. That's fine. But I stood there without any acknowledgement while she talked and messed around with the cash register. She actually turned her head away to continue talking and ignore me. This would be fine if she did any of the usual etiquette, like holding up a finger, or mouthing "one minute please," or perhaps calling her employee to come help me. She did none of the basics. A little rude, but no big deal. What I did think was kind of a big deal was the fact that the employee working finally noticed me and, speaking over the manager, asked if I needed any help. The manager responded by waving her hand at the employee to shush her. It's one thing to ignore a customer for a personal call, it's another thing entirely to shush a full grown adult employee for trying to do the job that their manager is clearly ignoring. I was more taken aback by a manager refusing to acknowledge a customer and then chiding an employee for trying to do the job she didn't want to than I was being ignored for a phone call. If you humiliate your workers for trying to do what their managers won't, you're not gonna have them very long. This place can put all the new paint and names on its building it wants, but it's still going to be nasty inside if it doesn't do anything about the authorities inside. Bathrooms are nice! I may come back for those if I am in a real pinch but otherwise this place is neither welcoming nor functioning in the most basic ways it should be."
"Food is great. Always fast and friendly service. Missy is always helpful and funny. They also offer non ethanol fuel very convenient for my motorcycle. I used to drive over 12 miles to fuel up."
