Stax Payments

"We have been with Stax for years, but recently access to customer service is poor. Chat responses 1-2 days. Online hold 1 hour just for Level 1! We cannot process sales properly, so what good is their pricing?"

"Switched over in 2023 from a pretty good (great prices) merchant svcs company to Stax and besides interchange fee increases in the meantime, their wholesale + flat fee model works well to save us money and keep prices predictable. Be sure to do the math first though to ensure it works out better based on your transaction volume and dollar size per transaction as it may not be equitable for everyone. Lastly, I've interacted with Austin in Stax Customer Support a number of times and he's been very helpful and knowledgable at explaining pieces of this puzzle."

"I switched my small business from a different credit card processing company about 2 months ago due to the ever increasing fees which that company added to the interchange rates for their profit. Most recently, that company added a $7.99 fee per month per device without any explanation. When I tried to renegotiate better rates, they were difficult and did nothing serious with the numbers. at that point, I decided to look for another card processing company and found Stax. The reviews were good, and the information provided by their representative convinced me to give Stax a try. Since signing up, I've been very happy. First, switching to Stax was very easy. And, they gave me a free wireless terminal (as compared with the prior company that insisted on charging $500 for their wireless terminal). Since I do a lot of telehealth treatment, I have found the Stax virtual terminal to be very useful and easy to process credit and debit cards quickly online. What I really love about Stax is that they charge a flat fee for their service, $99 in my case. So, regardless of the month and the amount of charges (below the threshold for $99 fee), there's no additional fees. I pay the interchange rates for each card. So far, I've saved nearly 1% each month on charges/fees in comparison with the prior company. And, the monthly printout of the charges and fees is so much easier to understand compared to the other company which went on for pages and pages, mostly to accommodate the fees that they charge and collect for their profit. Lastly, when I've reached out to Stax customer support, all of their reps have been located in the US. The other company made it very difficult to get support, and it was always outsourced and worthless. Overall, I am much happier with Stax and recommend them as a very affordable option for credit/debit card processing."
