Tops Vacuum and Sewing | Lakewood Ranch

"I've gotten all of my sewing machines and a couple of vacuums from this location and any time I have had a question I have gotten a quick answer / resolution (if I was trouble shooting as most of the time I am the issue). I recently had to get my Janome repaired and Joe has been great with not only repairing my machine but helping me figure out how to avoid issues and ensure my machine works properly for years to come! I know sometimes they are a bit busy and I am glad to know that my patience always pays off. Joe always answers my questions and helps me figure out what I need. I appreciate that he takes the time to troubleshoot with me and if he doesn't know the answer he always finds out and gets back to me. That's why it's the only place I'll go for my domestic machines!"

"Do no trust this place they lie to you to make a sale. I Went to have my Dyson vacuum fixed and after looking at it Joe told me it would be to expensive to fix. I asked him to please make sure as I did not want me husband getting upset with me if my vacuum was fixable. He assured me that my Dyson had done its time . So convinced I inquired about another Dyson and he told me that they where not worth the money and I would be better off with a simplicity or Miele; so I left with the simplicity brand vacuum. The next day my husband having doubts drove to the Dyson dealer in Tampa and guess what they fixed it FREE of CHARGE…it was only a LOOSE SCREW. I went back to see Joe to return the vacuum cause I no longer needed it and at this point I did not trust his opinion and also wanted to return the mop he convinced me to buy. He REFUSED to refund me and would not let me talk to the manage or store owner. I went back twice and also I asked another employee if I could leave a message for the owner/manager and he replied that he did not know how to get ahold of the owner/manager. What kind of business is this that the employees or clients can’t get in-touch with the owner/manager. Stay away from this place employees lie to you to make a sale."

"TOPs is the best sewing and embroidery store for instruction. Scott and Melba are so helpful and so knowledgeable about anything I need or suspect I need. I have bought two sewing machines from TOPs. With each one I received exceptional training to where I had full confidence when I got back home to do my projects. Scott knows so much about these new machines with Wi-Fi and USB ports. He made me feel extremely comfortable. I am making all types of embroidery pillows, placemats, wall hangings, T-shirt quilts, etc. I know I couldn't have done this without Scott's help. It's wonderful to have such a local resource to go to. Thank you so very much What a fantastic sewing machine store. Joe was so helpful and knew exactly what I needed and could steer me in the right direction. I’ve been buying from this store for the past two years and can say that Joe exceeds all of my expectations in a sales professional. It is comforting to know that when you purchase a product from tops, they are behind you 110%. I have also received training on my new machines and and it gave me the necessary confidence to embroider and sew. You will never be disappointed with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff at TOPs in Lakewood Ranch. My many thanks go to Joe and the staff."

"Walked into the store to pickup a paid for order. My family and I stood, unacknowledged while the guy Joe behind the desk happily chatted on the phone for about 5 minutes. A kind older gentleman came from the back and greeted us and was the saving grace. Once he gets to the desk the other guy jumps up and grabs the box and quickly ushers us out the door without a hello or anything. We were actually going to buy the thread I needed for the machine but didn't get a chance. As a person of color, these kinds of experiences make you wonder if racism is at play and if my husband wasn't so kind I would've asked for a refund for the $700 embroidery table. Ironically the guy gets to our van and asks us to leave a good review for him because he's worked there for 13 years. I'm stumped. I would sooner shop online than be treated like an invisible nuisance again. There's your review buddy."

"I went in today to learn about machines and left so impressed. Blaze the rep was really professional. I'm not a beginner, but not much past being a beginner. I just bought the machine that we discussed. I also feel like I bought "Tops" not just a "Brother Machine". You don't get that with an Internet purchase. And, they were much less expensive than others. I've heard great things, and after my first time in, I was crazy impressed. I felt like a kid in a sewing machine candy shop. So after going in I read all the reviews, and while every one is not perfect, the owner responded sincerely and respectfully and made every effort to solve the issues. I do wonder if the complaining folks called to ask for help from you in every case, or did some come here to a public forum to vent without calling? I'm confident I will have a good experience with your store. I'm buying a higher end machine, and after visiting your store, I'd much rather buy it from you than anywhere else I've shopped. I think it will be fun to come there for classes and to learn. Plus all the extras you provide (and great ones) make it worth it for me. Thanks."
