"I called OneMain for payment assistance and agreed to specific terms. I got a call today stating that their employee made an error on the amount I was to pay and I would be required to make another payment. The manager decided that she will not keep OneMain’s word on agreement for payment assistance. Rather she gave me the platitude that “we’re all human” over and over. OneMain should have held the word on the recorded and agreed-upon payment assistance plan. Everyone makes mistakes, I get it. However, my finances are being negatively impacted because of your employee’s mistake thus you should have committed to what was agreed on and make an exception. All this to say, be wary of making payment arrangements with OneMain - the conditions can change at any time."
"Despite having the loan cancelled and having the account zeroed out, well before any anticipated monthly payment for the loan that I never had, for a car I never had in my possession, the bank felt it was fair to take money from my checking account, which incidentally overdraft my account - when I called the number I was given, I got the run around and 7 hangups (whilst trying to work my actual job), when that wasn't the case, then I had a rep actually argue with me that it's impossible they took the money, while looking at a negative checking account. After the run around, I finally discovered there was a "15 day hold", which was not disclosed... Therefore, I was left with a negative account, overdraft fee, and that "a check would be mailed 15 days from now. You should receive a check on November 11th to reimburse me for money, for a loan that I never received for a car I never took possession of". No apology, not a care for my situation in an economy where every dollar counts, no care to put the money BACK into my checking account for a LOAN THAT NEVER COMPLETED, nothing! The absolute worst loan experience I have ever experienced! So, after the 8th time I had to call THEM back (heaven forbid, because ironically, none of the "other extensions" recognized my 10 digit number calling them and none of them could be bothered to call me back), I was left with a negative account and told to "just wait until November 11th, and a check would be sent at that point in time... So despite them somehow taking money for a zeroed out owned loan, having to explain myself for their nonsense and taking my money for nothing I owed, mind you, at least a week in advance, I was basically being told, by matter of action, that I would just have to deal with it. Because I wouldn't want ANYONE to endure what I did, under any circumstances, I am obliged to ensure that ANY PERSON PURSUING ANY LOAN WITH THIS INSTITUTION, needs to know that you may possibly get screwed by this lender/bank. Now, as a rational person, I could see if it was some last minute thing, but not even the application process was complete... I don't want to keep repeating myself, so I will leave it at that. I intend to ensure that social media and any other avenue is aware as to the greed of institutions such as this. This was flat out stealing funds for something that was never provided. To jump through hoops, hangups and a representative who had the audacity to question a grown man as to whether it was OneMain, then claim I never completed any paperwork was appalling. Social Media posts WILL include their names, following this drawn out explanations. They didn't even try to admit an error, make an apology or even try to make things right. That being the case, I will do everything in my power to INFORM those who don't know any better, despite any APR proposed, that you might be better off with a lender with a higher APR, but TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will have updates on social media followings in the days to come. Clearly they don't understand that all of us weren't born with silver spoons in our mouths to suck up their mistakes."
"I was nervous about the process and was assured that the process was simple. All my questions were answered and I felt comfortable and relaxed. I didn’t feel pressured to make any decisions and my personal advisor Angel gave me enough time to discuss the situation with my family and make a good decision. "Terrible communication, that is if you can get anyone to answer at all. The 1 star is for Richard who actually attempted to help me even though he was not the one handling my loan, otherwise would be 0. My experience with Miriam was awful to say the least. She let my loan application, which is apparently timed, lapse out and now I would have to reapply with another hard credit hit for no fault of my own. I uploaded all necessary documents asap and called multiple times getting her on the phone only twice in a month. She never reached out to me. She never informed me of the date loan app 'times out' and she passed the blame to Richard as well as another woman, when ironically they are the ones who provided the most assistance and let me know a lot of my info had not even been entered yet on their end. I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but this was a truly terrible experience. I will not take another hard hit to my credit for a mistake that is not my own. And the fact she says she can do nothing to fix her mistake is truly upsetting. Go anywhere else or perhaps try Richard. I wish that was the person who handled mine."
