"Im giving this location a 5 only because of Joel and a few of the other wonderful staff members that service this Nokomis Branch But yesterday was about the 6 th time . Ive seen this woman come out in regular clothes and just speak horribly to several elderly customers. Whether it’s they are hard of hearing, language barrier, she treats them with the most nasty demeanor and talks to them like children. She is abrupt and absolutely rude and walks away from them . Yesterday I found out she is the Postmaster. She should retire early or be fired."
"Service with a smile. Easy parking and easy access. Nokomis, the little town of good living!"
"A friend has been picking up my mail for the last 6 months, as I have been waiting for critically important documentation from a government agency. Life altering type of documentation. When she went to pick up my mail this week (she was doing it at least weekly) the box was empty and there was a green “vacant” card left in the box. I am going through a divorce, have been left homeless and am in temporary housing at the moment in another state. I will be moving again back to Fl for a month for medical and am then hoping to find something more permanent. Although my mail is being forwarded, I know that not everything gets sent, so my friend was acting as a backup. And my documentation could be sent in the coming weeks (if it hasn’t already been) I contacted the 1-800 number and the gentleman was very pleasant…but 20 minutes later he concluded that he could not help me. He suggested I contact the local office (this one) to work out an arrangement. He was confident that they would be able to help me. But that’s because he was kind. When I finally got someone on the phone, the woman had no interest in listening to my issues…she kept loudly interrupting, repeating the same song and dance…she wasn’t listening at all. In short order, things escalated and voices were raised on both sides. She kept repeating that USPS policy is to declare a property vacant if the mail hasn’t been picked up in 10 days (shocking, really). When I mentioned that this had been going on since July (my ex husband’s mail was being left in the box and only occasionally collected) she exclaimed “good!!!! Then someone is finally doing their job!!!” Given that I was in a complete panic about this course of action, it was the most unfeeling and gratuitous thing to say. When I asked which gov departments participate in mail forwarding she said she didn’t have that information. Really?? Isn’t that something that should be provided to employees for when mail is arbitrarily stopped after 10 days so clients know how much trouble they are in? And who they need to contact? She was completely unwilling to offer assistance…her solutions were condescending, and she was outright rude. And by the end of the call, so was I. I have lived with an abusive alcoholic for the last 4 years, who abandoned me and my incompetent mother in July. I am fighting tooth and nail to try to ensure that I have resources to survive. Everything has been a battle. And will be for months to come. Not one moment of her time was spent listening or assisting. She had already decided that I was to be dismissed outright. Only trying to make me feel stupid for not knowing the policies and how I should be managing this horrible situation. I’m not from the US, btw…and in Canada ALL mail is forwarded when you put in the request. So it’s not something I’ve ever had to be concerned about. I was certainly schooled yesterday. This was the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. Even though I was on a two hour call with Apple last night to deal with their shipping error, at least they were polite. All four agents I was transferred to. Not competent (until the last one)…but polite. If a response to this review is attempted, please don’t just repeat your policies. Although I am shocked that this is permitted without warning your clients and there is ZERO flexibility and everything is set in stone once the decision has been made…there are human beings in the other end…who may be going through hell…and are trying their absolute best to cope with all that is being flung at them…and these policies could have major major negative impacts on their lives. We have all had to be patient will all the courriers over the last several years. And I have been. Apparently it’s a one way street…at least at this location."
"Fast friendly service at Nokomis Post Office."
"Well run, friendly staff. Not noticeable from main road (US 41), so MUCH less busy than the main Post Office in Venice at Harbor and Venice Ave. The location is down Laurel Road, about 200 yards west from the Publix entrance."
