"We would not use Berger-Allied again. It was the most chaotic "inventory control" you can imagine. The packers used one "Lot" number, while the movers/driver used a different "Lot" number -- both "Lot" stickers were the same color (blue), and when our belongings arrived at our new home, there were at least 30 boxes/items with the SAME NUMBERS! We still have NO idea if all of our boxes arrived at our new home. Also, just before the movers were leaving we realized that we were missing an expensive specialty extension ladder and my late mother's rocking chair (priceless to me!). They found the ladder buried at the back of the truck in someone else's order, and my late mother's rocking chair mixed with the belongings of other customer's items! Days later we realized that another piece of our furniture was still missing... never to be seen by our eyes again! I notified Berger Allied's customer service representative. She said she would share the information with her manager, but since then... crickets! I've spoken with their claims department, and have filed a claim -- the woman handling the calls in their claim department could use a great deal of training in customer service skills. How well they process claims handling is yet to be seen -- we paid $528 for their "Transit Valuation" insurance! In the interest of all fairness to others, we could not possibly recommend Berger-Allied to anyone. Just a word of advice... anytime you feel intimidated or experience incompetence from a moving company, please report them to the Department of Transportation. They are there to watch over dangerous and bad business activities of movers, and should be made aware of those businesses."
"Use extreme caution. They moved my family from Tampa to Tennessee on July 3rd. As of August 18th, we are still waiting on a lot of our belongings. Things like entire bins of Christmas decorations, entire bins of jackets, home decor, a bin full of batteries and flashlights, a television, and many others. They have told me for a month that they know where our things are, and that it is in the warehouse and will be shipped. But it has not shipped, I have no dates, and no information. Now they want us to fill out a claim form with an itemized list of everything that is missing, their inventory number for each item, where it was purchased, original value, current value, etc. There are dozens if not hundreds of items missing. Update 8/28 - They shipped "our" missing items in 2 boxes from UPS. A very small fraction of what is missing has actually arrived, and they sent us items that belonged to other people. So other people are missing things as well. Clearly they do not have a good system for making sure that belongings end up in the right place. We are missing thousands of dollars worth of items, and now we have to hope for the best in the claim process."
"Made a long distance move with Berger. My driver was out of Dallas, I was in the Tampa area moving to Oklahoma. My new street was too small for the truck. My driver , Andrew rented a uhaul in Tulsa, loaded all of my things and drove out to my new home. It was a rainy day and muddy around new construction so they put cardboard down on the driveway, mats in the house and delivered everything without trashing my new carpet and flooring. Since I had the price guarantee it didn’t cost me a dime more from my original quote. That is OUTSTANDING service. I appreciate it so very much."
"**AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS** Our items were picked up from Laguna Beach, California on July 13th for a cross country move to Sarasota, Florida. The move was sub-contracted to someone who, after picking all of our stuff up, informed us that 8 of our boxes were left behind in a warehouse somewhere in California -- the exact location was not disclosed. My husband and I have called and emailed Allied over 15 times trying to get information on the location and status of our remaining items. On July 28th, we finally got a response from someone saying they were on a truck across the country, but no more information. Yesterday, I followed up again and was told the items were getting on a truck yesterday (not on the 28th, like they said they were). I have completely lost confidence that anyone knows where our items are and when they're going to arrive. There are over $10,000 in items that are missing, including our silverware from our wedding, pots, pans, a television, a grill, smaller kitchen appliances like our mixer, toaster, etc. We have had to purchase some replacement items because these items are things we need to use on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, many of the items that actually were delivered are damaged. Our headboard has a few chunks taken out from it, our side table is scratched to hell, and the movers took a huge chunk of the wood floor out upon moving into our rental, which we'll definitely be charged for upon our move out. I am furious and cannot believe your company's lack of communication and disorganization."
"I had to post one star or it would not let me post the review. Think twice before you use them. I had many items broken. I am still unpacking and finding things that were broken in the move. I tried to complete the insurance forms but the number on the paper I was to refer to did not match watch was on the computer generated paperwork so I was a day late and several dollars short. It was too bad so sad for me. They would not even reimburse me for the item that was dropped in my drive way and was on the paperwork they received the day of the move. Just a few pictures from the broken items. It is amazing some of these items made it to Florida 20 years ago from up north and several moves throughout Florida but they didn't not make it in a round trip of approx 90 miles. A few items can't be replaced. They were the best price but as they say you get what you pay for. I will never use them again or refer them to anyone. Lesson Learned."
