"This review is scandalously long over-due, but well-earned. Our colleague and friend retired at the end of last school year, after a long and dignified teaching career, and we decided to try to acquire a copy of the 20th anniversary re-issue of The Wind, an excellent album about life's changes, the last by Warren Zevon, of whom she's a fan, to frame as a gift for her. But the album was only available in shops on Record Store Day and in limited quantities. I woke up early that Saturday and brought my daughter with me to stand in the cool morning, waiting in a slow-moving line to enter a favorite local music store in Tucson for our shot at a purchase. Sadly, every copy of The Wind was gone by the time we found ourselves inside the building. We'd missed it, and it wasn't available any where else in the city. The album was impossible to find across the county after Record Store Day, and I was pretty down. After a week of desperately looking online I was ready to give up my search for the precious vinyl, but on a whim, late at night, I decided to try one last time, and I did it--I found a copy of the anniversary re-issue of The Wind at Vintage Vibes in Stuart, Florida. I hurriedly made the purchase online, and reveled in my success. I connected with Karen the next day to share my gratitude. She sent the album post-haste, and we were able to present our colleague and friend with a gift she dearly appreciated. Thank you, Karen, for helping us make a lasting memory.
