"It says it in the name “Pro” for PROFESSIONAL! Aaron and Nicko were so nice to us! I took my TREK Boone cyclocross bike to the Trek store down the street to get the bottom bracket serviced. They did not have any bottom brackets for my SRAM T-47 BB. (How do you not stock a common part, one of the most wearable parts on a bicycle?) I came to Alex’s Bicycle Pro Shop at the recommendation of some random guy (77 year old) in the parking lot of the Trek Store. He said it was the best bicycle shop around. A random stranger gave me the best advice of anyone! PLEASE SEE VIDEOS OF THE PROFESSIONAL GEAR THEY HAVE AT THIS SHOP. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED! We are from Atlanta so this is an authentic review. So we come over here, and Aaron inspects the bike and not only do I NOT need a new bottom bracket, all I needed was my bearing serviced. Nicko takes care of the bearing and front brake rub and we are off to ride the levee! Such an honest bunch of folks here. Spend your hard earned money here at a local shop! Cheers, and I do mean that as they have a wonderful coffee shop inside with cookies and pastries! Kirk & Connie Corsello"
"Love this place. Bought 2 bikes and we are extremely happy with them. Service is great as well. Definitely recommend."
"First time in the store. Needed a bike helmet and noticed the bike helmets were a very pro level and out of my budget. They helped me find a helmet within my $50 dollar budget that was still high quality, looked good, comfort, and safety concerns for the type of rides that I will be doing. I did see bikes also in the sub 1,000 range that would be a good upgrade when I am ready. I will come back here again."
"First adult bike purchase and they were not only very knowledgeable but very friendly! Love my new Giant Roam 3 that is actually correctly sized for me!"
"Unfortunately I've had a few mediocre experiences at Alex's. One time I brought my bike in with a rattling noise. For something like $60, they took a few things apart, including the headset, bottom bracket, etc. but ultimately did not resolve the problem. While I thought the price was reasonable, I still walked away without a repair. I then proceeded to examine the bike further myself - I noticed the cassette was "wobbly", which lead me to discover a broken axle sleeve in the hub, which I ended up replacing - the rattling noise was gone! While not a huge issue, I was still left wondering why I as a "non-mechanic" resolved the problem when an actual mechanic couldn't. In another instance, I brought my bike in to have the fork and shock serviced. Around six weeks later (but only two rides later), I found that most of oil had leaked out of the rear shock during a ride; mind you I've never had ANY amount of oil leak out in over six years. I was then stuck having to send it to Fox to spend more $ for service (Fox has GREAT service, by the way). Most recently (but PRIOR TO discovering the shock leak), I brought the bike in with a rear free hub that was loose and not engaging the cassette. They said it should just take a simple free hub service for around $60 to resolve the issue. About a week later, I went to the shop, paid for the repair, and walked outside with the bike, only to find the free hub was still loose - so they never bothered to check if the service actually worked! They proceeded to inform me that I had to send the wheel to Reynolds for a $290 repair (new hub and re-lace the wheel), which took about 5 to 6 weeks. When I finally got the wheel back, I noticed they added on $40 for sending off the wheel, which I feel they could have waved considering the initial service accomplished nothing."
