"If you wanna stand up on the wall or take up space on the dance floor without busting a move…STAY HOME! I LIVE for Goodnight John Boy. One of my favorite things about this bar is you will see all kinds of people of all ages straight up dancing and having a good time. It’s a 70s themed bar from the decor, music and all around vibes but the DJs tend to mix in more current tracks to keep the crowd lively. I think the first time I came here was on a Thursday. I’ve never been here and not had a good time. Honestly, on the weekends the line is down the street. If you have friends visiting (or if you’re visiting) this is a great place to spend your night out."

"The staff is very friendly and security was wonderful outside watching for line cutters on a busy Friday night. The drinks are inexpensive a Bud light and a juice was just $5.00. other places charge $5.00 just for the juice and Sprite mix. There was a $10 cover which I thought was a decent price. The music was good but the DJ could have played more of a song before jumping to another. The crowd was friendly and most probably weren't born when most of the songs played came out. But everyone was singing and dancing to everything that was played. Just goes to show you that era of music was the best! And Good Night John Boys does an amazing job keeping it alive!!!"

"Amazing atmosphere to say the least. The bartenders are so sweet and genuinely want to serve you to have a great time here. Binx especially is so enthusiastic and kind about serving you. Highly recommend coming here. The outstanding service and vibes will make you come back for another amazing visit!!"

"DO NOT GO HERE. Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The customer service and the attitude from the bouncer to the team inside is appalling. We had a large group who were all really looking forward to going dancing for a fun disco night, but from first initial experience with the bouncer, we should have just left. The bouncer was rude from the moment we stepped up to show our IDs and refused to let some of our group in (some from different states / countries) without their passports. Despite the fact the some were let with just their license and some required passport and they were from the same place. The bouncer easily could have explained this to us without an attitude, and there would not have been any issue. But instead - the bouncer is clearly on a power trip. Once you’re inside it’s very aesthetic and the music is good, but there’s a good chance the bouncer will ruin your night before you even get in. We had a member of our group leave for a smoke and then reenter (via the same rude bouncer) and then within two minutes was taken to the side on their own and forced to leave. This could have been handled much better rather than taking a female aside and forcing her out on her own. There was no regard for safety in this situation at all. This place has a lot to learn in terms of customer service and just general politeness. As they have now lost a number of repeat customers and will never recommend this to anyone in the area."

"One of our favorite new bars in downtown St Pete. The light up dance floor makes you feel comfortable blacking out by yourself, with mom, or preferably with grandma. The seats lining the dance floor make everyone feel comfortable *feeling* the music the DJ plays and it’s rare that you leave this establishment without hitting their light up floor at least once. Brandon behind the bar is closest to the dance floor and knows how to set the vibes for the rest of your evening. I recommend seeing him before hitting their neon checkerboard floor, then sending yourself into oblivion."
