"Lovely setting in the middle of a very popular downtown area of parks, shops, eateries, upscale condos and hotels. AND then the homeless have set in. What a tragedy for them and this area. July 2022 and people sleeping all about. The city has an obligation to taxpayers and residents to solve the issue. No excuses. Homelessness degrades a community, encourages vagrants, crime and debris. It increases sanitation issues. Alachua County is supposedly the highest IQ County in Florida. DO SOMETHING ! START CARING ABOUT THOSE LESS FORTUNATE. Its a tragedy in itself but it detracts from a quaint shopping area where owners are trying to do something good for the area and make an honest living."

"My friends and I were patrons at Maude's and my car got towed. Despite the fact that members of my party (all drove in the same car) were always present on Sun Center property, I was informed by the Towing Administrator at GPD that honestly it doesn't matter whether one follows by the "rules" of the lot or not. 1) These "rules" are not documented (nor do they have to be) anywhere in the towing agreement between Sun Center and Ultimate Towing and 2) as a result, because it is private property, Sun Center can have your car towed for any reason whatsoever. The example I was given by GPD was if Sun Center decided they didn't want any yellow cars on their lot, your yellow car could be towed and it would be perfectly legal because it's private property. I won't be bringing by business to any of these Sun Center stores anymore and I suggest these stores have a discussion with Sun Center about the predatory towing that takes place on their property. Edit: A representative of the Sun Center property requested Ultimate Towing refund me half of my towing fee. Steve, the owner of Ultimate Towing, stated he would only refund me if I deleted my negative reviews. So much for customer service! You'd think Sun Center would want to contract with more upstanding companies. Will update as the story progresses..."

"I met some friends at the sun center, specifically Maudes then boca fiesta. Couple hours later, my friend finds out his car is towed. We looked at the signs and there is NO specific listing of shops one could visit. Drove my friend to Ultimate Screwed Towing. $100 for my friend. Cashier did not care about where they had went because "somebody saw you leave the property." Oh? Then this witness needs to buy glasses. Not to mention, I know where the many cameras are attached to the ceilings and the 1 above starbucks, which would be proof. Bottom line, spend your money outside of downtown Gainesville. It seems the Sun Center isnt interested in investing money into the city. Cant believe parking for the Hippodrome isnt allowed. Absolutely Unacceptable."

"Very disappointed with this business complex. Attempted to patronize your shops and businesses tonight but before I even could, my car is immediately towed because "I stepped off of the property". You all must not be very interested in getting customers if you contract with such a predatory towing company. Instead of spending my money at one of your businesses, I instead had to spend that money to have my car returned to me. Absolute shame. Good luck getting customers with this kind of practice going on."
