"Genuinely shocked at how bad this place was. I don’t mind overpaying for a good mani/pedi so I assumed for their prices I was in for a treat. I was very wrong. A spa pedicure does not include cuticle cutting or dead skin removal so it’s essentially just a polish change with a bunch of oils rubbed on your leg… for $45. I also got a dip manicure which was a whopping $60 and included just the dip nail polish. For $60 i got no cuticle cutting at all, apparently for that to be included I had to pay an extra $10. The technician didn’t know how to properly shape nails so they all ended up looking different and horribly shaped. The whole experience was super sloppy. This woman spent more time chatting and looking at her coworkers than she did looking at my nails while she did them. I will never come back and highly recommend you go anywhere else. There’s so many nail places in Sarasota, absolutely any of them will be better than this."
"I went here when we first moved 5 years ago and stopped for poor quality. I had acrylic on my nails that was 4 weeks old and decided last minute on Friday that I wanted them removed and a simple manicure, no polish. It was $35. Seemed expensive but I was happy with them even if I could tell the tech was mad when I said I didn’t want a pedicure or polish. So I went back Sunday for a pedicure and a manicure, this time with regular polish. The price of the pedicure was $75…. I looked at the wrong price originally so I let that slide. It was my fault. He did clip an ingrown nail that I didn’t ask him to touch because it wasn’t bothering me… it hurts like hell now and it’s definitely still there. He also kept calling my feet dirty… I showered before I went… I am a server, I’m on my feet for 8+ hours a day at least. It was rude. I decided that I wanted a gel manicure because I’m 8 months pregnant and I had to pee and just knew I’d mess up a regular manicure in seconds. They looked cute when I was leaving.., short and stubby since I had just recently taken my acrylics off. No big deal. I go to check out and he told me $120. My jaw hit the floor. I said, “sorry, how much?”. I proceeded to politely tell him that it seemed a bit high. And he told me “there’s a $5 service fee on Sundays”. For what???? Even at that, $40 for a simple gel manicure seems expensive. I tried not to argue, I should have asked about prices. However, it’s the next day and my $40 feel manicure is bubbling. How is a gel manicure bubbling????? I’m so upset and now remember why I stopped going there."
"What a wonderful experience! I came here after going to another salon that just made a terrible mess of my nails and Tom saved the day. My nails are absolutely PERFECT now and I just love them!!! Tom is now stuck with me for life because he is just lovely to work with, he really listens and does a wonderful job. It’s obvious that he takes pride in his work and that it’s important to him that I was really happy with my nails! I am beyond happy with the whole experience!!!!"
"Sadly, I’ve decided to leave this review after months of trying to make this salon work for me. I have been a loyal customer of Blossom UTC since 2020 because of the awesome nail techs I’ve gone to, not because of the steadily increasing prices and poor attitude of front desk staff. With that being said, my nail tech of 3 years has left the salon & I have been trying new techs for my manicures for a little over a month now. I have tried three techs, only one of which has given me a decent manicure. However, they charged me $65 for a dip manicure and when I asked for them to cut my cuticles they told me that was an additional $15. If I was there just for a polish change I would understand no cuticle cutting, but for that to not be included in $65 and $75 manicures I find that to be a scam. One of the nail techs I tried had about 2in. long tips on her own nails, had zero control over the drill & repeatedly lost control of it, resulting in sliced/bloody cuticles. I wish I was being dramatic, but I’m not. She cut each finger at least three times. She proceeded to do the sloppiest dip manicure I’ve ever had in my entire life- my finger nails were basically glued to my nail beds to the point that I had to use a cuticle cutter to separate them, there was polish all around my fingers and nail beds, dents in my nails, with uneven shaping and application of dip. When I asked her about the polish all around my cuticles she told me to “just go wash your hands.” After washing my hands, there was still dip all over the sides and crusted underneath my nails. When I went to go back to the station to ask for her to clean them up, there was already a new guest sitting in the station with my purse, wallet, & drink there. I was pushed out before I could even ask for it to be fixed, when I did she just slapped some oil on my nails and brought me to check out. At that point I was just ready to get out of there. I have had no issues with my pedicures and the techs that have done them for me over the past 3 years have been nothing but kind and sweet/ treated me like family. However when I started going there pedicures were only $50, the same pedicure is $75 base w/additional fees for gel. The same pedicure… nothing new. I used to tip $20 for my pedicure tech & nail tech, therefore I’d be paying $75 for my nails (+extra for cuticles and “design” charge for French) and $75 for my toes (+extra for gel) and then expected to continue to tip $40. I walk out with a $150+ bill every time I visit plus $40 in tips. I tried to tip $15 both and each tech was visibly annoyed and short with me. I have no problem and enjoy tipping extra when I feel that quality work is being done, but at some point enough is enough when the prices continue to go up and service continues to downgrade. It’s unfortunate because the employees often gossip about how hard it is to make money on tips when the owners continue to raise the prices. Another thing is, if Kim isn’t working the front desk (who already has a baseline attitude) good luck with anyone else. They are not friendly, do not make eye contact, are on their phones ignoring you/not greeting you, and overall rude. I just dealt with it because that’s how I thought it was there & I loved my girls, but now that one is gone I find it hard to continue to go after repeated bad experiences. Sadly, a loyal 3+ year long customer gone for Blossom. *photos were taken after an hour of trying to de-crust my nails, I’m now just soaking the dip off myself*"
