"I wish I could give a MINUS 5 stars. This company is made up of nothing but criminals! Our parents belonged to interval for 15+ yrs. Always paid their fees but ALWAYS had some type of issues every yr. Our parents just recently died. Dad (2021) Mom(May2023)my siblings and I were added as owners after our Dad died. Interval wasn't happy with this because they lost money. They gave our Mom a hard time..after our Mom died we contacted interval to inform them of her death and let them know we will still be utilizing our time shares plus an extra studio that was there from 2 yrs ago. They tried giving us issues and misinformation but we finally got everything completed. All of this was done via email so it's all in black and white/on record. We (8family members) flew to our destination to sprinkle our parents ashes..on 11/4/23 expecting our 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio. Interval STOLE(rented) our 2bedroom and 1bedroom on 11/2/23 without any phone calls or emails to ANY of us! We still had the studio only because they couldn't do anything with it. It was going to expire! They did NOTHING to help us! They told us either to come back next week or they could get us a hotel for $90 a night in our "budget" how dare you presume to know our budget?!? If it wasn't for the kindness of the condos we were supposed to be in we don't know what we would've done! We had to pay A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY OUT OF POCKET. We are in the process of FIXING EVERYTHING interval destroyed!"
"This company is greedy. Your basic membership fee is $99 a year. The fee to exchange is $229. There's an additional $79 fee to allow a relative to use it without you being there. You should absolutely NOT have to pay a fee for one of your children (who is older than 18) to use it without you being there. When you arrive at the new resort you are not considered an owner so there are ZERO perks. They have poor customer service as well. Tooba could do absolutely nothing to help until my mother pushed to speak with a supervisor. She said it could take up to 48 hours to get a phone call. She couldn't give us a name of her supervisor. She said there are too many. So you're paying $400 PER EXCHANGE just to pay MANY "supervisors" salary. The fees aren't getting you any perks at resorts, you even have to pay if you own a timeshare at a more expensive resort and exchange for a less expensive resort. But, if you want to upgrade to a better resort or bigger room, they charge you PER UPGRADE. I'm pushing for my mother to cancel her timeshare and interval. UPDATE: a supervisor called with nothing but excuses. She told my mother she has a highly sought after timeshare yet we have to pay more to stay at a 3 star resort because they don't have anything available. I noticed they have employees leave good reviews. Im going through and reporting them."
"For 15 years, we have members of Vistana and in our "updates" we are always asked why we NEVER utilize Interval for anything. We got our reason this week. For the first time in 15 years, we exchanged with Vistana to get a week at Disney. Sounded great, was looking forward to it! Unfortunately, a family emergency has forced us to travel out of state and we would not make it back in time for the booking. So, we call Interval to see what our options were. We would get a 30 day window with which to complete travel at a different resort, subject to availability and had to pay an additional $164 (with Marriott) or $219. Greedy comes to mind. Evil come to mind. In any case, we would never use them again."
"Up until March of this year I really did not have a problem with Interval International, but from March on --- it has been a downhill ride. First I would like to say that when you are in your seventies, have served your country in a military career, had your own small business and went on with another career post military you gain some wisdom and knowledge along with the age. I believe I have a good feel for what customer service is and what it is not! On Nov 12th of last year I did an exchange with Interval for the Villa Roma Resort in N.Y. that exchange had a cost of $258.77. Not a large sum of money, but given for something in return WHICH -- has not happened. The exchange was for a period in March and the day prior to departure (March 13th) received a voice message from INTERVAL that my reservation was cancelled. In that voice message I was provided a number and extension to call and was also informed that I would not wait. Well I did wait for sometime and then informed that I would not get a refund for my cancellation....the problem I did not cancel Interval did! I was then placed on hold listening to their elevator music and informed and a repeated over and over statement "Thanks for waiting we are doing our best to reach you” All total I waited over an hour for someone to resolve the issue when that never occurred I finally hung up. Eventually after emails I was able to move the reservation to October...figuring we would be past this COVID issue. Fast forward August of this year and NY still restricting travel from numerous states including mine called the Resort and was informed I would have to go into quarantine for two weeks prior to staying at the resort for a week. As well many hotels, etc. in the NY area have the same policy so if you’re from out of state and on NY's list you’re out of luck. So I called Interval and again went through several holds and after informing the agent what the current issue was. I was informed I need to wait until one month out before a change could be made and to call back on September 18th --- today and thus I did. Called and waited in the "Q" to same elevator music and "Thanks for waiting..." Finally spoke to an individual recapped the situation again provided name, email, etc. and after 10 minutes was transferred to whom I believe was a supervisor after 20 minutes there repeating the same stuff as before and answering to the same identity questions was now going to be shifted to the "" Escalation" individual. After being put on the -run the customer down- hold again with the elevator music and the "Thanks for...".bit, I finally spoke to the "Escalation person who stated I would not get a refund and I could change if I wanted to make a payment for that! Why do I need to pay when the Resort, NY State are the one's throwing up the barriers? Went round and round with the Escalation individual for sometime with periods of nothing on that end other than what sounded like a squawking bird, to which the response was the window was open. So I informed her I still wanted my money back, and that I paid in advance for a service that was not provided, she stated that I need to wait until next month and then call back, I've had this push-off before and that was not going to happen again - I'm not that in love with their elevator music and constant holds!. So again I stated I wanted my money back and was informed ---and this is the only part that I agree to.--. It is beyond our control! No kidding a basic pandemic - really, however you still want to keep my money although I also have no control! She informed me someone would be calling and needed my phone number, which I provided, but did not expect a call as this is Intervals mode of operation get the money regardless. Business is built and sustained on customer loyalty, good customer service. It will fail due to the lack there of. And no! there has not been any phone call nearly 5 hours later! Make your own decision if you really want to utilize this company."
"Buyer Beware! Wanted to trade my timeshare week for another resort. I was told if the trade did not complete it would revert back to my home resort week. The trade did not complete and I was then told it does not revert back and that I needed to shop inventory. Only unit available was a studio. So, I switched my Two Bedroom for a Studio and they charged me $209. I will not be renewing my subscription. Horrible and misleading customer service."
