"We’ve done the boat tour and walked around the spring. This place is magical. You need to arrive early if you don’t want to spend at least an hour waiting to get into the park. $6/car to enter the park. The boat tour is definitely worth it- buy the tickets first thing after you parked, because they sell out fast."
"We have done the boat tour twice. Captain is knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. Takes 2 hours. Then short walk up to the springhead. Lots of manatees in the spring all along the walk. Water is crystal clear to easy to watch them. Great wildlife birds gators and fish. Play ground, picnic areas and snack bar serving alcohol and ice cream. You can also do a short tour of the original homestead which tells the history of life on the river. Definitely worth the visit. The park can fill up making parking and entering an issue. Arrive early during busy season."
"Spent best part of 2 days at the park. Went on the Kayak tour the first morning with our excellent guide Courtney. Boat trip in the afternoon with Jamie. Both experienced and knowledgeable guides. So much to see, without harassing the local wildlife. Came back the second day to hire a kayak and explore on our own.... Amazing!!! Thanks again Courtney. I've included some of the turtle picks!"
"There are two adventures that I associate with this location. 1st is the boat tours which I have not tried. 2nd is the kayaking which I will focus on. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have my own kayak, an inflatable so launching from the rental area is not an issue. The staff provided a map with possible routes and distances, very helpful! If you want to paddle to the springs, be sure to arrive early since you can do so as long as your out by 11 am. Other routes take you around islands or exploring the shoreline of the lagoon. Make sure to pay attention to current directions when going around the islands, this will make the leg home easier (or harder). I highly recommend this relaxing way to enjoy the water."
"Great experience! Unfortunately, we did not get to see Manatees up close, but saw quite a few different bird species, fish, and a few alligators as well. Highly recommended"
