"John did a great job replacing the reverse solenoid in my Evinrude G2 250. Very cool the way he slid his boat underneath my boat on the lift and did all the work right there. I did have to run the boat over to A-1 Marine in Matlache afterward for calibration (a coconut fell off my tree and took out John’s laptop while it sat on my seawall :( ). A-1 was great, only charged me $180 and did it while I went to Perfect Cup for breakfast. The main thing was John’s ability to get the Evinrude part fast and replace it at my dock."
"Not satisfied with boat bottom paint job, some unpainted parts are below water line. Some spots had no paint at all on the bottom of the boat!! Also the trailer had new carpet installed by another vendor, 8 days prior to John's bottom paint. When boat was returned and launched, bottom paint was all over the bunk carpet & hardware. Have tried to communicate via phone, regular mail, email with photos, text, to get him to look at the boat/trailer, but no response from John. Sadly, he seemed like an honorable businessman. Paid $1100 for bottom paint job and $400 for trailer bunk carpet install. Hal & Jessie Leopard."
"Really good and honest ... i will always use John from now on. I was prepared to have to do lots of expensive work on my boat but John found out my issue was minor and charged me accordingly ... what a great experience !"
"I cannot say enough about how great John and Byrd’s is. I basically had a “dead boat” on a Thursday before big plans for the weekend. I called John and within hours he was working on it. Quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it and we were back in business. All at a fair price. later that day I realized I had a boat trailer issue and reached out to John one more time on the same day. He again came through and fixed and returned the trailer promptly. Again, for a fair and honest price. IMHO, goto John at Byrd’s before making any other call. I have been boating for quite a few years and he has definitely won me over as a repeat customer for his excellent service, knowledge and honest pricing. Rich"
