Reviews of Benjamin Brothers Air Conditioning
"To give them a one star is generous! They oversized our units placing 7 tons of air for our house vs. the 4 tons that is required. This led to high humidity 60-70 percent in the house at all times. They promised the units would work well on humidity and we wouldn't have any issue. Wrong! This led to mold in the house. While installing the units one of their techs put his foot through our ceiling and then a few hours later the drill came crashing through the ceiling which they never paid to repair!! They also installed different equipment than what was on the invoice/quote! We unfortunately used them for our business as well and they undersized the unit there. Do yourself a favor and run far far away. Oh yeah and Rob "You got it!" This is where the guy stepped through the ceiling and they did not pay to repair it even though the owner Doug Benjamin said they would."
"Aidan of Benjamin Brothers came over to give my central air unit its yearly service. Aidan provided great service and good advice in replacing my unit in a couple of years as it is 20 or so years old. Thanks Aiden"
"Feeling ripped off at this point. Over $3000.00 and I have not have ac since June for more than a day or two at a time before it shuts off . My unit is only 5-6 years old and was installed by B&B. The techs have been here no exaggeration, eight times. First it was a leak from the coil and 10 pounds of freon, next it was a leak from the line coming from the coil and 10 more pounds at $75.00 a pound. How can they be comfortable with charging me for freon again when they shouldn't have filled it if was not repaired correctly the first time. I was told there were definitely two leaks. Not on me that the tech did inspect for that before filling and I highly doubt that it was two separate leaks. Now it might be some type of regulator or a leak form the line in the attic and of course there will be a third charge of freon. I asked for the owner or any supervisor other than who I've been dealing with and there has been nothing. That was July 12th and again the 28th."
"I recently hired Benjamin Brothers Air Conditioning for their services, and I must say, they did not disappoint. Living in New Port Richey, Florida, where the heat can be unforgiving, I needed a reliable air conditioning company, and Benjamin Brothers came through. Their technicians were prompt and professional. They arrived on time and assessed my cooling needs efficiently. They provided me with clear explanations of the recommended solutions and answered all my questions patiently. The installation process went smoothly, and the team demonstrated skill and attention to detail. The new air conditioning system they installed has been working flawlessly, keeping my home cool and comfortable. I appreciated their fair pricing and transparency throughout the process. There were no hidden fees or surprises, and the overall cost was reasonable for the quality of service provided. In conclusion, I would recommend Benjamin Brothers Air Conditioning for their reliable and efficient service."
"I am currently in the process of opening my very own restaurant. I went into this process with my eyes open, and although I believe I was ready for the stress and the headaches that my transition out of Corporate America and into entrepreneurship was sure to bring, nothing could have prepared me for my experience working with Benjamin Brothers. In May 2022, I started this venture. I was taking an empty space and converting it into a restaurant. The biggest job was going to be the installation of a commercial hood/vent. Benjamin Brother’s was recommended to me by the landlord— I compared their quote to that of another contractor— and honestly, Benjamin Brother’s had a similar price point but I chose them because I was quoted a 6 week completion date. That was in May 2022, it is now March 2023 and the job is still currently incomplete. Every week it is something new, another push back, another set back, another excuse, another lie— They have my money and they continue to drain me with reckless disregard. Primarily, I deal with Doug (who I believe is the owner) and Angie (who works the front desk), and although she works for and directly with Doug, they struggle with having consistent stories. I speak with Angie and request callbacks from Doug and she tells me he’s in meetings— I get a text back from Doug a week later and he tells me he’s been on vacation for the past week. As I keep records, I realize that Doug has claimed to be on three vacations throughout this entire process. He’s never present but he feels it’s appropriate to use staffing issues as an excuse of why my contract is still incomplete. When a worker actually keeps an appointment and make it to my location, they’ve made no secret of the fact that the bulk of the staff is at larger jobs which pays more. Benjamin Brother’s has used my money to fund these bigger jobs while keeping my project on hold. This was proven when the city came out and left a notice on my door, ceasing all work because Benjamin Brother’s neglected to obtain any of the necessary permits for the job. I waited months for this to be corrected, hopeful that once the city cleared them to continue, we’d be finished in days (as they keep stating) but it’s just been more of the same. My texts and my calls go unanswered and unreturned. They don’t show up to scheduled work dates. They’ve shown up without the proper equipment, leaving shortly after and not returning until the following week. There’s been missing parts, and additional missing permits. Their measurements were conveniently off, so the entire hood had the be moved down several inches. They’ve scheduled the wrong inspections, deliberately postponing my contract. The only phrase that comes to mind to describe their dishonest business practices is “pyramid scheme.” They make promises to gain your business, and use your deposit to fund the next job. They do a portion of the work, and move on to their next location…. And this continues, so on and so forth."
