About the SWA Greenway Trail System North Entrance
The SWA Greenway Trail System North Entrance is a park and zoo located at 7501 North Jog Road in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States. The institution, operated by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, aims to protect the community by balancing industry and nature. The wetlands within the park filter water as it flows through the Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park and into the Florida Everglades watershed. Recycled materials such as plastic lumber and crushed concrete are used to create boardwalks, benches, and trail paths throughout the park.
During the development of the SWA landfill and waste-to-energy facility, 300 acres of natural area were set aside as a conservation area. Within this conservation area, a large rookery provides a home for thousands of native birds, including the endangered Snail Kite and threatened Wood Stork.
The SWA Greenway Trail System is part of the Jeaga Wildways, a network of over 165,000 acres of natural Florida lands connected by trails and educational centers. Visitors can hike, bike, or horseback ride between sites to explore the diverse habitats linked to the Everglades ecosystem. The trails are open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and biodiversity of the region.

Reviews of SWA Greenway Trail System North Entrance
"Very waste management oriented even with the smell. Watch out for alligators they are all over."
"went around 11am in December. mostly shaded so that was nice, I haven't found too many other trails in this area that are shaded. we walked around 30 minutes but there are a couple options for trails if u want to walk a bit longer. only saw one other person on the trail during our walk. will definitely go again."
"Had a great ride with lots of nature. Well maintained paths and parking felt secure and safe."
"There is a sign on the entrance that says that the trail is not maintained, but the trail is in very good condition. If you go to the end it connects to a trail system that runs for miles. That one has no shade so be prepared. The SWA trail is shaded and has multiple areas where you can stop and rest."
