"ROACHES! In the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. I had to kill 9 in 2 days. This place was a nightmare. We were LOCKED OUTSIDE FOR 2 HOURS because the front door lock was old and didn't work. It took forever to get someone to help us. This place was SO RUN DOWN. All the furniture and walls were worn and stained. No backs and batteries in the remotes. Half the lights didn't work. We had to buy our own toliet paper because they only gave us 3 rolls for a week with 6 people. The company American Star REFUNSED TO GIVE US ANY KIND OF REFUND EVEN THOUGH WE LEFT EARLY BECAUSE OF THE ROACHES. I wasn't going to leave childen in this property any longer. They told us that this is "tropical Florida and there will be bugs." I understand that, but HAVING TO KILL 9 ROACHES IN JUST 2 DAYS THAT WERE CRAWLING ALL OVER YOUR STUFF IS JUST RIDICULOUS. All they did was offer to call an exterminator. But that would have taken more of my vacation time and usually the spray makes them come out more at first, so i didn't want that. I spent all my time there: Killing roaches or on the phone trying to get in the house because we were locked out. Or trying to get in the property gate because THE LINE ALWAYS TOOK 30 MINUTES EACH TIME. Or complaining to Airbnb about how horrible this company is. Even the HOA at the complex told me this company is terrible Needless to stay don't stay here or use American Star."

"This company does not believe in simple human sympathy. I had to cancel my reservation a few days before my check-in date because of a family tragedy I experienced. After explaining to the Airbnb host the exact issue, their reply to me was, "We will have to stand firm with our cancellation policy" and "Our stance on adhering to the cancellation policy remains unchanged." They did not even offer some other type of solution that would work for both myself and them; they just went strictly to denying any refund regardless of the circumstances as to why I was canceling. This is my warning to NOT book any properties via Airbnb or any other site, sometimes life has different plans than the ones you create, and this company clearly does not believe in this. For that reason, if I could rate them a negative one, I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY."
