Reviews of Michael J Looney Inc
"Great place and great people. Thorough work for a great price. They don't disappoint and can complete the job without an issue. Will use and recommend them in the future."
"We recently contracted with Looney to install fans in our living room and on our lanai. They were fast, professional and friendly. Could not ask for more!"
"From the moment I contacted their office to the final touches of the project, the entire process was nothing short of outstanding. First and foremost, I must commend Diane in the office. She is an absolute delight to work with. Their responsiveness, professionalism, and efficiency in handling my inquiries and scheduling made the entire experience incredibly stress-free. They were courteous, attentive, and ensured that all my questions and concerns were addressed promptly. Their excellent communication and commitment to customer service set the stage for a positive experience. The true highlight of this project, however, was Mark the electrician who worked on my remodel. From the moment they arrived, it was evident that they were not just an electrician, but a true craftsman. Their dedication to their work was palpable, and their attention to detail was unparalleled. They meticulously assessed the project, provided expert recommendations, and executed the electrical work with precision and skill. The results speak for themselves!! I wholeheartedly recommend Michael Looney Electric to anyone in need of electrical services."
"I have had Michael J Looney services out to my house for 2 different projects over the past few years. They are efficient, professional, and very very fair in their pricing. I have a few more projects in my mind, and they will definitely be the ones I call back. Highly recommended!!"
"I contracted Looney electric to wire a new 3300 sq ft garage . Supplied them with a detailed plan including number of circuits, outlets, light fixtures etc. I obtained bids for this job using the same plan from 3 companies. Looney’s bid was considerably lower so I had Josh from Looney Electric meet me at the job site to make sure we were on the same page. We reviewed the same plan and Josh stated “I stand by my price”. He also stated the job would take 3-4 days to complete. One electrician arrived and began working alone in a building has 16’ tall ceilings and with only a ladder, no scaffold. I went over everything with him and after two weeks working alone except for a couple days, I told him he would have to leave because the epoxy floors were scheduled to be installed. After two weeks of trying to get them back out to complete the rough-in, we discovered the job was ready for the rough-in inspection. Nobody had let me or Looney’s management know. One month into the job. Rough-in inspection passed but the overhead supply wire needed a wall anchor installed before final electrical inspection. I contacted Josh and asked about the anchor. He stated the anchor is supplied by FPL and not installed by the electrician. I contacted FPL and they stated they supply the anchor to Looney who is at their yard picking these up on a regular basis. More back and forth with Looney so I got it and installed it myself. FPL stated I was the first customer to come get one. Always supplied to and installed by the electrical contractor as its part of the service installation. They returned to trim out and the quality of the work was simply terrible. Crooked electrical boxes, boxes mounted too close to each other so the faceplates overlapped, loose receptables with mismatched screws, etc. The exterior lights were installed but the glass globes were put in a pile of garbage. No caulking around the exterior lights against the building. At this time, it was discovered the dimmer wire for the LED lights was never run and the dimmer switches were never ordered. More waiting. After two months the building was finally ready for inspection after several return trips and many of the problems being corrected by me. Now we discovered only half of the home runs (circuits) the plan called for were installed. The main 15 amp lighting circuit is nearly maxed out with just lights but also powers multiple exterior outlets. The two LARGE garage door openers are on the same circuit as half of the interior outlets. Breaker pops with only a floor fan plugged in and opening doors. The exterior outlets trip the breaker with anything like a circular saw plugged in if the interior lights are on. When I received the invoice it was full price even though much of the work was not complete and the quality was terrible. I contacted Tom, co-owner of the company and asked him to meet me at the job site. After looking over the job and making a lot of excuses, Tom stated “I am going to fire people over this job”. Tom offered me $500 off the bill plus $200 for an AC circuit that was not installed. I asked for $1000 and we agreed at $750 plus $200 for the missing circuit. It wasn’t much for all the trouble, but it was something and I can put toward paying to have this mess fixed. The next day I received a revised invoice for $500 total off the bill. I responded asking for the correction and got a phone call from Tom who flatly denied making the offer. He refused to honor our agreement and threatened to lien the property if I didn’t pay. I told him that I would pay but also share my experience with his company to which he accused me of blackmail. Pics show overlapped face plates, crooked electrical boxes, and crooked mast with no anchor. My invoice has been paid in full and as promised, here is my review of Looney electric."
