"Don’t wast your time. I had a long conversation with someone from their leasing office about touring a two bedroom apartment. When I arrived for the self guided tour I was given two apartments to look at, and both were one bedroom. I confirmed several times that I wanted to see a two bedroom. There is also no one on site there to help, everything is virtual. Huge waste of time and energy talking with someone if they can’t get the simplest detail right."
"The only thing keeping this from a 1 star is my interactions with maintenance staff. They’re good people and just stuck in the confines of the company. I also actually like the apartment itself. Here we go. A brutally honest review. 1. There is always a mountain of garbage in front of the trash compactor come Monday morning. There is only one garbage dumpster spot in the whole complex. There are a few hundred people living here and we get one dumpster. The recycling bins are a joke. Residents use it for garbage because you have to open a big nasty door to dump your stuff. 2. UDR (the owner/manager) is primarily owned by Blackrock and Vanguard. Expect cold heartless management along side nickel and diming every little extra. I CANNOT call anyone only email or text. They require that paper trail. I thought it was just Covid that kept a real person from giving us a tour. There is no management on site. This is probably the last time I’ll live at a place that isn’t locally owned if I can help it. 3. Currently, a similar apartment to mine is listed at $1550. (Moved in at about that price last year) plus the “extras” listed below. I now pay $1700. PLUS $30 per car per month not reserved. Poor drainage and they don’t even need to worry about plowing snow. Not sure where that money is going $40-60 for water $8 for required parcel locker that isn’t even used (cannot opt out) $50 for Gigstreem shoddy intermittent internet (cannot opt out) but you can pay even more for spectrum separately if you want $27 for “trash” $3 for pest (which honestly has been manageable. We’ve only had a few roaches. But they’ve come out to treat quickly) The roaches are there but I’m sure it is “certainly not” affected by the weekly garbage mountain Making it $1900 all day. Please use this to compare apples on your apartment hunt. I know a lot of these fees are “standard practice” but don’t think you’re getting a place for $1550. That number is just for manipulating search results. - there’s this program the management is trying to push to get your deposit back but I do not trust that for a second. There is absolutely no way they won’t find a way to charge for something at the end. Just seems like a loan to yourself. -the security gates only kinda work sometime. And doesn’t even pretend to be secure. 4 cars will pile up before one person unlocks it and we all file in. The gates break and stay open all the time, and I’m not upset about it. I’d rather freely go in and out. -some sort of weird guest parking has been implemented. Parking has never been superbad, and they shouldn’t charge our friends to visit. -The installed grills have been broken for months. They put alternates out there but the tanks are never reliably full A couple good things though: - I like my apartment. The layout is exactly what we were looking for. The screened in porch is nice. The dishwasher, washer, and dryer have been reliable. - the walls are thick. There’s a baby next door and I only really heard it when their entry door opens. I only heard the downstairs people’s music when it was dead silent in my place. - The neighbors are good. Most people keep to themselves and I haven’t heard much drama. -it’s pet friendly. I love seeing all the dogs around. I’m not sure what sort of “pet rent”they have."
"Absolutely disgusting complex. Someone got shot here and they still raised the rent 300$. Takes forever to get maintenance for certain things also you have to pay for visitor parking which is insane. put in a request for a dishwasher replacement and they brought a old white used one and the soap dispenser STILL doesn’t work. Went to the office and spoke with the rep there cause I saw NEW appliances and told him they gave me an old one and he said that when ppl move out is when they put the new ones in. TERRIBLE tired of the junk fees and ways for them to get extra money out of their residents. Only reason why I am still here is cause it’s going to cost 4k to break my lease. Sick of paying 2100$ and not being satisfied."
"I lived at this apartment for 2 years and encountered many issues that were not rectified in a timely manner. In December of 2021 there was a ceiling leak above the water heater with water coming into my apartment. This took over a week to address. In addition, there was conflicting information given by the maintenance team and the office staff. I had one maintenance request open from March 3, 2023 then followed up via email March 30, 2023 with no response. Then I requested a lease termination on April 14, 2023 in light of the lack of communication with the service request. This was not honored as the apartment community stated they had made progress despite the fact they had not communicated with me. There was mold in my apartment and several issues with lighting not being fixed throughout the community. The price on these apartments are cheaper than most of the other apartments nearby, but it definitely is not worth the hassle of having water leaks and mold growing in your apartment. They only do band-aid fixes and do not fix the root of the problems, causing more headaches later on."
"Absolutely terrible- I was happy with the location and had minor maintenance requests (fan light replacements, etc.) in the past. So, when my air conditioner broke last week (5/17) I was expecting them to be able to resolve it. It's been a WEEK to date without a/c. The temperature reading inside is 93 F with rising humidity and no ventilation. The first day no one bothered to even stop by to check the a/c. The second date, the issue was a broken fan. Their solution was to place a portable unit while they wait for a missing piece. Please note, this portable unit is leaking water onto the carpet. The third day the issue was a broken breaker/electrical issue. There have been no updates from management or maintenance since about their "missing" replacement part. Keep in mind that the portable unit continues to leak and the water is spreading. The whole corner of the one room is wet at this point. It's only a matter of time before I would need to start rearranging my furniture to prevent water damage. The rest of the house is humid. Cooking isn't even reasonable because of the heat/warmth will only make the matter worse. The whole unit is practically unliveable. Yet I'm still expected to make my usual rent payments and pay the additional electric costs for running the portable unit? This is absurd, unacceptable, and ridiculous the management at this location."
