Reviews of Statehouse Arena
"We all love meeting those people that make you smile and leave an impression on you. LUKE at StateHouse (Woodward)! Luke went above and beyond helping make this first time process much less painful than it could have been!! He texted me to follow up and give an update on his sister properties and see if I needed help with anything, knowing our 6x6 was too late to get into his property. You are “that guy” that makes everyone’s day easier and leaves and impression. Hats off to Luke! You have my business if my family needs a place in the future!! Thanks, Luke!! He followed up with the StateHouse update later on and reached out at the end of the day to see if I was good or needed anything. There aren’t too many “Luke’s” we meet in life."
"The interior is modernish and it looks okay. Several problems. Very big problems. After reading the other reviews from a YEAR ago, I’m even more disgusted by Statehouse Arena. None of them have been addressed. The issues regarding dirty hallways, for example. As of right now, the hallways have cobwebs and have for WEEKS. Do they not clean?!? Trash always litters the hallway with roaches and spiders. There is always vomit in/near the pool when I rarely decide to go up there. Property is always damaged. That’s the residents, though. But the issue is that all of these issues have been brought to their attention MULTIPLE TIMES. BY MULTIPLE RESIDENTS INCLUDING MYSELF. it’s ABSURD. and they’re RAISING OUR RENT TO $1250. In a 2x2. Just so everyone knows, the 5x5s are MORE expensive than the 2x2s! How crazy is that!!! I promise you the property is decent and the location is decent but the management is just as sleazy and willing to screw you over as much as any other less visually appealing apartment complexes. The area manager, Viola Cannon, is extremely unprofessional and has had an attitude on multiple occasions when greeted with nothing but kindness. I genuinely don’t know what her problem is but she does not deserve to represent statehouse in any way, shape or form. They raised EVERYBODY’S rent AND parking and the only answer I could get was “inflation”. The list of issues goes on and on but won’t be fixed until management is improved. Maintenance is good, I will say. The locks and handles on all the stairway doors are unscrewed falling off (has been for MONTHS!!!) and while one elevator intermittently works, the other main elevator is completely broken. It has been for 2 years and they claim they need some part from Germany. There are a number of safety hazards on this property. The main working elevator’s handles are falling off this property is not handicap accessible whatsoever sometimes for days on end. You HAVE to take the stairs. Also, the 7th floor is only accessible via stairs. The working elevators certificate of operation has been expired since 2022, which has also been brought to their attention multiple times. I cannot even begin to fully explain how frustrating living here has been. It’s my first apartment for college, I moved away from home, and expected much more from the staff for what I’m paying. They don’t act responsible whatsoever and brush off any concerns or issues you bring up. Viola Cannon is the worst, and everyone I run into in the hallway complains too when its brought up if they’ve noticed any issues. Also, internet has been working on and off (more off than on) for the past month and schoolwork has been impossible to get done. They’re making so much money off college students it’s crazy. Definitely taking advantage."
"My friends and I just resigned at Statehouse and we had the most amazing experience. Luke, one of the staff members at Statehouse St. Augustine, was so so helpful and such a sweet guy. He answered all of our numerous questions with a smile on his face. It is rare that you find staff so helpful in the majority of these leasing offices and he made our experience significantly less stressful. On signing day, we worked with Fran, who helped us find the perfect room and price for us. She smoothly guided us through the leasing process and was such a sweet and fun person to work with. The amenities and quality at Statehouse are amazing, but it is the people who work here that make living here so worth it."
"after MONTHS of harassing them to finally help me and my roommates with our COCKROACH PROBLEM (saw the first one on the day we moved in but they said we "brought them) they finally began taking us seriously once we got parents and the health department sent to look at the exterior. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT LITERALLY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THE LOBBY HAD TRASH AND FOOD IN CREVICES THAT HELP VERMON THRIVE. disgusting. you can literally see roaches boarding the elevator. don't expect to be taken seriously by the staff and even if they tell you they have it covered, they don't. they told us they would come spray FINALLY but every single week WE HAVE TO CONFIRM THE PEST GUY IS EVEN COMING, AND THEN HE USUALLY DOESNT OR ONLY SPRAYS 1/5 OF THE ROOMS. we have had to confirm so many times with statehouse and they give such mixed answers like "we go with him to the units" or "we give him the master key" but then none of the bedrooms ever get unlocked and sprayed and then when it isn't sprayed we get told "well I only took him to the 6th floor not inside the apartments" which one is it? yesterday he was supposed to come and we had to confirm downstairs IN PERSON that he was coming and the girl showed us the book with our apartment number and literally pointed it to us to get us to be sure. THEN WHAT HAPPENED? HE NEVER CAME. SHOCKER. its actually like baby-sitting children and reminding them of things they need to do. in addition to the wildlife, our latch electronic door system randomly died when I was coming home from a night out. that is extremely dangerous and illegal for your apartment to not provide you with locks or to not even know what is going on. it notifies the latch system when the door is low so they could've at least noticed and helped if that was the case but instead my roommates and I had to wait 5 hours on the first day of school sitting in the literal hallway while they simply told us "we don't know why this happened it has never happened before" oh okay awesome! so then after 5 hours two men finally drill a hole in our door to replace it with a deadbolt (we pay 1200 a month btw lmfao) they told us that they can get in the door for us but that we won't have it locked over night. oh okay! that's so safe. (especially because we've literally been ROBBED IN THIS EXACT APARTMENT LAST YEAR. but they told us it was OUR FAULT WE GOT ROBBED because we didn't want to admit we were buying drugs from a random guy? who was literally 30 btw and got arrested for other charges you can literally tell in the video he's following my friend home.) viola, the general manager can literally be heard on the phone with the guys fixing our door saying she doesn't care that we're locked out and that they aren't allowed to drill a hole in the door. bye. our door looks awful and we have keys now instead of the entry being on our phone and if we lose our key we will be charged for a new one which is also not what we pay for! yet again! in addition, not sure who the assistant manager with the awful orange hair is in the office but she has the most disgusting condescending attitude and zero compassion towards anything. like actually gross she should genuinely be fired. so don't expect to be taken seriously because I don't even think shes old enough to have the requirements to work here. also the elevator has been broken for over a year. my friend broke her foot and had to walk up stairs for 2 months while BOTH elevators are broken. so if you need accessibility at all this is a place you should SERIOUSLY avoid. have there been any reimbursements or even a gift card like they give other residents? not even a GIFTCARD. don't get anything delivered here. they'll email that you need to pick up a package and then tell you jk. the only hope for this place is the nice front desk people who have to normally take the wrath of every resident because management sucks and is inaccessible."
"Upon many of my visits to my child, elevators never worked, roaches in the hallways, load noises all hours of the night, etc. Very disappointed with Statehouse and the Management Team. Expected a better experience, boy was I disappointed for my kid who hated this building. Plus Management could never control the partying residents that destroyed the property, patio furniture being thrown off the upper deck by Juveniles. The lease set guidelines which residents never followed and when you would make a compliant to Management, it was never addressed. Expect to never receive your security deposit back, even if you cleaned and painted meticulously. Especially watch for vomit coming from balconies above onto sidewalks."
