"I want to start by saying that I'm not one for writing reviews of any sort. I'm not one to go out to a restaurant, have a bad experience and then go home to write up a bad review of the terrible time I had or my experience in general, even if it was a great one. However, in this specific situation I feel that recognition is needed. I have been living in Grand Central Apartments since December of 2021. When I first moved here I was blown away by how beautiful the grounds were and was eager to begin living in my new beautiful apartment. Over time things have become....let's say, a little rocky and on more than a few occasions I have had to bring my concerns to the office/management. I'm not going to get into what the issues were because they are irrelevant as to why I am writing this email. Recently a new Assistant Property Manager by the name of Jamie arrived at Grand Central Apartments and I have to say I immediately started to see big improvements. Jamie is responsive and attentive to all of the residents here. Jamie goes out of her way to check on us to make sure that the residents here are happy and that our concerns and or needs are being met. I have lived in a few communities similar to Grand Central Apartments throughout my life and I can honestly say that I have NEVER met someone quite like her. She truly cares about the well being and happiness of our community and it shows. On behalf of Grand Central I want to Thank Jamie for the incredible job she has done in such a short period of time! People with amazing work ethics like hers are very far and few, I can only hope she stays here for many more years to come!!!!"
"Looks great, but the experience living there isn’t. We just moved out after our one-year lease was completed. First of all, they tack on so many mandatory fees, the rent you see online is just the start. $20/month is now the charge for package acceptance when things are delivered directly into a closet. When questioned, management said it was to cover the costs they were being charged. That equals close to $6,000 for the entire complex per month and I’m pretty sure UPS, FedEx and Amazon don’t charge to drop things off when you’ve already paid shipping with your order. The new manager is trying, but the overall complex has become trashy. We paid extra to live in a building with an elevator that is broken a majority of the time now. Dog feces everywhere with nothing but strongly worded emails to try to fix the problem. Couldn’t enjoy opening glass doors due to all the pot smoke that comes in. The water they spray on the lawn is reclaimed septic water that leaves a film all over your car. And finally, it took me being bitten by a dog to get them to do the bare minimum of sending an email reminder about leash requirements after I sent in multiple complaints. The apartments are nice, but the experience of living there has gone downhill fast."
"It is a shame that such a beautiful community is ran by a management team that could not care less about that same community. Alex and the team of maintenance workers have been FABULOUS and are the only reasons for 2 stars, or else it would be 1 star. The 2 female managers, who will not be named, have failed to provide the level of customer service I know it is that is strived for at Grand Central. I have spoken with them on multiple occasions about an issue that was brought to the community’s attention by the management staff and they continually fail to make any significant changes or even make their clients feel heard. I have been charged a fee that has yet to be explained to me why it can’t be fairly charged to all offenders. When brought to the management staff’s attention, I was met with a myriad of excuses, a lack of understanding and was even led to believe false information by the property manager herself regarding her accountability with the matter. After further discussion with the management team, they made it clear that I was wasting both their time and mine, and nothing was going to be done at their level despite them having all the means and power to do so. They also advised me that more than likely nothing would be done by their superior(s), so I find myself here writing a review. As a General Manager myself, I have patiently learned through years of service that you only pay to benefit from giving time to your clients and understanding their point of view (even if it means you have to be at work a little bit longer in your day). Especially, when trying to solve a systemic problem that can easily be solved with systematic action! Do more or be more efficient!"
"So my family and I moved in in December of 2021. We were very excited to move into such a beautiful place. The first 6 or 7 months we felt like we were living the dream everything was perfect. Soon after things started to take a turn for the worse with a lot of manage team constantly changing and not being fully staffed with maintenance. Things were not being kept up and manager not friendly at all. Then we got hit with hurricane Ian and things were really bad for a while. Grills not working, elevator being broken for long periods of time. Stairways and hallways being dirty, fire pits not working , pool being closed and rent increases. Well I have to say all that has changed since Jennifer became the new manager. In the short time she has been here things are really starting to get back to the beautiful place we moved into. We have had a consistent staff of maintenance that responds quickly and things are looking so much better. Today the day after hurricane Idalia my air conditioner broke and maintenance responded and was at my apartment in 15 minutes and fixed the problem. Also the elevators were shut down for safety reasons for hurricane and received an email that they are now up in running. I really believe that it is so important seeing how I live on the 4th floor and my husband is handicapped. It’s comforting to know that in case of emergency the elevator is working. Our last hurricane under a different manager we were without elevator for over a week and it was very stressful. So kudos to Jennifer for all of your hard work in making this a beautiful place to live in again. I have made a lot of new friends and we have become a family here. I have only had a few interactions with you and you have always been nice and treat the tenants well and I just wanted to say thank you and give credit where credit is due."
"I was lucky enough to work with Jennifer to view the property last minute. I will be relocating from up north in the coming months and saw this complex in passing. She was running the place by herself but was incredibly informative, kind and patient with all of my questions. The facility is beautifully maintained and I love that they're so pet friendly. I think moving here will make the transition that much easier and I can't wait to call this place home in just a few short months. Thank you Jennifer!!"
