"RUN don’t walk away from CDC property management. This “ professional” management Co managed a home I owned in Lakeland while I lived in another city. What a mistake on my part. They refused to reconcile any expenses, charged me for blatant tenants damaged and obvious security deposit charges Started paying about every other month then partial random payments then not at all unless you called and called. Usually no one would answer the phone for days. Had to make a few trips to surprise them, then they would sometimes pay something. Ended up owing me thousands of dollars. After consulting a lawyer I accepted a small amount of what was owed to me on his advice. Their claim of “maybe they didn’t pay the rent so we can’t pay you” was by then their standard answer. They could never show me any proof of collections. They apparently had no policy in place to check who paid and who did not. Please anyone considering using this Co. Think again. If your experience will be anything like mine you will be a lot sorry and a little poorer."
"I rented a year from Sarah thrasher. I had a older home in s lakeland where I lived without many issues for a year. I kept up with the property including improving the yard. The neighbors even commented after I moved in about the fact that no one had ever raked the yard and I raked two times all of the leaves out of the yard and made grass start to grow in the front yard. The backyard was mostly oak trees and probably about 10% grass. Being that it was an older home, it has tile throughout and several places throughout the house that had some minor nail holes and Nails left in the home from prior tenants. Not an issue or concern with me because it was not my house and I would be hanging things up as well. When I moved out of the property I was sent a letter stating that my security deposit was being kept due to the fact that there were nail holes in the wall, a torn screen on the back porch, broken blinds, and yard overgrowth. I did accept the responsibility for one screen panel that was torn, and the one blind in the entire house that was broken, I had bought when I first moved in and hung in the window. The nail holes were in existence before I moved in and the yard looked a hundred times better than it did when I moved in. I sent a letter back to the company stating my disagreement on them keeping my security deposit and no one chooses to acknowledge my letter. I was a good tenant, never even a day late on my rent and rarely ever called for any house issues. From what I've learned over the last two months since I left, they are out to get you in the end and will not return your security deposit no matter what. After talking to my attorney, I have no leg to stand on since it's their word against mine. Just beware if you are a renter with going with this company. I would highly discourage it"
"CDC is aweful! It took 2 months for them to give me oven racks so I could use the oven after moving in! We had to repair the section of fence that came down prior to us moving in. When requesting any repairs it took weeks to get them done. We recently move out of their rental and I paid to have it cleaned prior to turning the property over. When I asked Jada when we can expect our deposit back, she dedicated $300 for cleaning and $150 for cleaning the carpets. I will accept the carpet cleaning fee, but the house was cleaner when I left than when I moved in. Jada told me today that she is crediting half of the cleaning fee "to be fair" because it has already been paid! I asked when we will get our check and she said she will mail it today because she forgot about it! Really!!??"
"It was not CDC Properties' fault that the tenant left dried dog pee in the corners of two rooms, garage and back porch filled with left-over furniture and household goods that needed to be hauled off, range top "embellished" with left-over food, refrigerator that had to be dis-assembled and washed in every nook and cranny, what appeared to be dog hair and Borax covered the bathroom floor. It was the Landlord who graciously returned 1/2 the deposit. And it was the Landlord who paid for every repair and tried multiple times to have access to the home to repair the dishwasher and was turned down because those times weren't convenient for the tenant. CDC Properties can only do so much..."
"Can I do negative 5 stars??? I never leave reviews but I do not want anyone to go through what I went through. Worst company I have ever dealt with!!!! You can never get anyone to call you back and forget trying to get anything repaired had a leak and it took two weeks for repairs. Screen door took about 3 months. Washing machine took about 2-3 weeks so going to the laundrymat was really fun. The only way to get anything repaired was to bypass them and call the owner of the property directly. Not to mention all of the glass that was in the backyard that I had to pick up when I moved in to avoid my pets being injured. Lived at the property a year and a half and dishwasher was NEVER repaired. Now over 60 days still waiting on my deposit to be returned, was told it was going to be sent out dec 19th but have not heard anything and surprise surprise I can't get anyone to give me an answer, this is After being charged around $500 from my deposit for cleaning the air vents because I had dogs (non refundable deposit for the dogs was for nothing I guess) everything else was cleaned but I guess they just wanted to keep some of my deposit just because they could. NEVER RENT FROM CDC PROPERTIES!!!!!"
