Reviews of Valencia Grove II Senior Community 62+
"Dear Manager Valencia Grove II, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Felix Teruel, and I am writing to you in desperation as I have been dealing with a portable AC unit for over a month now, which was supposed to be loaned to me for a weekend, and here we are. I am a 77-year-old individual who suffers from Parkinson's disease and recently underwent surgery, having two platinum plates implanted, one in my brain and the other above my heart. On top of these health challenges, I also have high blood pressure. I CANNOT BEAR THE HEAT, also my wife is diabetic person, and that is exactly what I have been enduring for the past two months, and it is not fair! It feels like you are pushing me closer to my death! The electricity bill has skyrocketed to over $200, and I simply do not have the means to keep paying for your mistakes. The office keeps telling me that the part has not arrived. I implore you to resolve this issue, or there will be consequences!"
"In the beginning the grove was peaceful, but as time went by complaints were almost everyday, and rules were newly made because of those complaints from “Karen’s“ and racist people. Comments and attacks were made towards my family and the youth for having quality family time. Not only were the living conditions in order to live there outrageously unprofessional but the billing were always changing and getting higher. My family that lives there had there bills go up move then once. Not every senior citizen can afford those up-chargers especially for a small living space. Living at the groove was no longer enjoyable for my family but instead turned into stress. The grove is for the elderly and should be a pleasurable experience also known as a stress free environment."
"The management allows kids to live in the complex even though it's advertised as 62+; They hold quarterly inspections which include perusing through the tenants' cabinets and closets; They have had repeated issues with keeping the pool maintained; It took MONTHS to get the tenants full access to the exterior doors and the ability to pay rent in forms other than money order. This is a small list of the many issues!!! The management is horrible!"
"Good, quiet and clean place to live. Community is nice. Office and maintenance staff are work committed and friendly. Apartments are ok but, need more storage space and too expensive for a retired person."
"The apartments are beautiful and the halls and common areas are kept clean. But these apartments are definitely not affordable for the elderly with a fixed income. Over $900 for a very small one bedroom apartment in Eustis (country) is NOT affordable housing. My mother has been there since July and so far her total expenses have gone up twice. if it goes up again, she will have to move out because over $900 a month for a retired person on a fixed low income is way too high. These apartments, although beautiful, are small and NOT affordable. If your loved ones are on a fixed income, this is not the place to move into. Also considering you are dealing with the elderly that don't always understand immediately, the office staff should display more patience towards their residents and be way more helpful than they are. my mother is sad right now, because the realization is setting in that even these apartments in the middle of nowhere may be too expensive for her. Yet another example of how the elderly are taken advantage of. I DO NOT recommend these apartments as affordable for the elderly."
