Budget Car Rental 1770 Southwest 60th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34474

"I was trying to rent a car online but my internet was giving me problems. Made it to the Ocala airport and got in line. When it was my turn I was already finished with my booking and just had to press the “make reservation” button. I told the guy (named Andy) that I had no reservation, but that I was about to click it and showed him my phone screen. He just asked me for my name, last name, type of car, and when/where I was returning it. Took him 3 minutes. After that, he tried charging me $60 more of what I was about to pay online (some “walk up fee”). I told him that instead I would just click and finish my reservation, and he said that he would not honor the reservation because I was at the counter. Asked for a manager and he said that today he was the manager. No empathy or help from this guy…an honest person would have just said “go ahead and click/complete your online booking and I’ll look you up here”. Instead, he just tried to rip me off and offer no solutions. Definitely does not care about customers. I cancelled my reservation and left. Not doing business with Budget again."

"Tampa International Airport car rental could definitely do a better job, CLEANING some stain off of back seat, wiping down the vinyl so it doesn't show like someone spilled something on it, and MAINTAINING their cars instead of getting it in and pushing it right back out ! We had to return rental at Ocala Airport as it didn't feel safe riding in the car as something didn't feel right in the rear end of the car. I hope the person prior was charged for smoking in the car because I'm highly affected by cigarette smoke, so I bought TWO air fresheners and opened the windows during day to air the smell out until we returned the car. At least at Ocala Airport, you know they CLEAN their cars because as soon as we got in the car, it smelled fresh and clean, not like a pack of cigarettes had been smoked in it! Just like I told another car rental place a couple of years ago about a problem and it seemed like they could have cared less. I said ya well when something happens because of your negligence and someone gets hurt or worse and sues, remember that you were made aware of this situation."

"While on a 6 hour road trip, I had to switch out my rental due to low tire pressure on my original vehicle. I called this location and spoke to Justin who let me know there were vehicles available but a small wait. When I got to this location, Justin was AMAZING! He was so kind and apologized for the inconvenience and had me in a new vehicle in under 10 minutes. Thank you Justin for making my stressful day so much better!!"

"I really miss when the customer service was important. Here is my experience with this car rental company. I made a reservation for a small car for my wife and me vacation weekend. It happened that they didn't have any small car at the pick up time, in stead they offered me a V8 pick up truck. I didn't have a choice so I agreed, but, when I started the engine the fuel gauge mark empty so the solution they gave me was to return the car empty how this make any sense? I would take any refund for the gas I come back with, for example. But how can I returned back empty w/o the risk of run out of gas in the middle of the road? Then I said, no thank you, I better drive my own truck. They supposed to have the small car ready in the first place, that is the function of the reservation. Well, that's how it used to be..."

"Horrible experience. Reserved a Ford transit and got a chevy express. They charged my card twice. They never told me about a $200 extra charge until after they ran my card. The van was in bad shape. Air vents were broken. Steering wheel was way off center which sucked while driving on the interstate. The sliding door was damaged and hard to open/shut and had holes and didn't seal, causing alot of wind noise. Turn signal light was out. Tire light sensor kept coming on. All the tire pressures were way off. Definitely not worth what I paid for. Don't recommend using them and I won't ever again."
