"If there was an option to give ZERO star I would have given this company. I was RACIAL PROFILE by the staff I came in contact with when I arrived at there office. I called the office requesting to view an apartment , the lady told me that I have to come to the office before 4 and bring my ID. I told her I was travelling from Destin and state the reason. She said that is fine. When I got to the office, she told me I was not able to view the property because someone else is viewing the property. The same property I told her I was coming to see before I leave home. I said Okay , can I see another property. I also asked can I apply for the property seen that it had no application. Online it gave me the option to apply but in front of them I cannot apply. She proceed with another excuse about the time. I said okay, went and sat in my car and call to speak to the manager , this person Disconnected the call. I step back from my car and when inside and asked for the manager . She fetch another female from the back who came around with a straight face , who was supporting the other employees action, as if my time was not valuable as theirs. I said what I had to say and let her know that I was RACIAL PROFILED from the moment I walk through the door. I would never recommend no one this company. I also contacted a lawyer about the matter. If I had read the reviews before going to this place . I would have save myself the emotional experience of been racial profiled."
"First off, please do NOT trust all of these five star and positive reviews. They are to distract you from everything but the truth. It was a hard lesson I had to learn. This was a nightmare renting from these people. They are very nice up until the moment that they get your money. Tawny, the property manager, and Tiffany (an employee) are the most unprofessional and reckless employees I have ever witnessed in my life. They are condescending, will try to talk over you, and attempt to gaslight you into thinking structural and maintenance problems do not exist. I rented at a property on Sandy Ridge Circle in Mary Esther and after the first month, the floor began to leak water. Every time you stepped on a floorboard, beads of water would be pushed out. It began in one isolated spot. Over the period of two months, it spread into a downstairs bathroom, the living room and kitchen. After two months of dealing with on and off leaks, the AC started to smell like mold and mildew and began making me sick. The last month I was there, the ceiling started to leak. Not a drip leak but a constant stream of water every time I would take a shower. I threatened legal action after the fourth month and miraculously was let out of my lease without penalty. Yet, to this day they have not taken responsibility for their inaction. Instead, they shifted blame to the property owner/landlord. I’m not a lawyer, but if you’re getting screwed over them, threaten legal action and they will change their tune really quick. Don’t just threaten them, keep a trail of receipts. Keep a written log of every time they fail to fix maintenance problems. Record dates, who you spoke to, and take pictures/screenshots of everything. In addition, they throw their landlords under the bus and gossip about them to tenants. Or at least that was the case in my experience. I beg anyone who is struggling to find a place to live to please run far far away in the opposite direction. You can do better than Wimco. They prey on people they think won’t fight back or don’t have the resources to fight back."
"This company is like a family to me. They have been hands down the best group of people I have ever worked with in my 25 years of working years! The owner (Charlie Wimberly Jr.) always takes my health and safety into consideration and makes it his top priority. He is so easy to work with. Tawney, my supervisor, is far more mature than her age; she is kind, caring, and so much fun to work for! We work hard here to take care of every tenant, owner, and potential tenant as best we can, given the circumstances presented to us. I would recommend this company to anyone!"
"I have been renting from WIMCO for 6 years. Renting 3 different homes from them. They have always been very professional. I’ve had to pay late and never had a late fee, if there were ever any issues they resolved them quickly. The tenant portal was very easy and effective to use. They are also centrally locates which makes it’s easy to access their building. I would highly recommend this rental management company!"
"When we first started renting through Wimco it was a difficult to get small things done. Then the AC went out when I was 9 months pregnant and it was a fiasco to get it fixed. Nothing short of showing up at their office unannounced and demanding to speak to the property manager while eating a popsicle, as it was the end of August, got it accomplished Wimco ended up getting new staff at some point and the new staff really are great. The last year we used them they were fantastic. They always answered my calls, returned calls and emails, worked to make sure things got fixed, made sure I got my deposit back, and my prorated rent. The owner of the house was difficult but Tawney took care of us. Tawney and the receptionist are simply awesome."
