Reviews of Parkside Grand
"Initially on move in day my family (my husband, 1 year old, 2 year old, and myself) were very excited. This all changed approximately 3-4 hours after we moved into our second floor apartment. We received an email from the office stating that our downstairs neighbors complained of our children’s movement noise level. The office did not come to assess the noise. I personally went downstairs and introduced myself to our downstairs neighbors and formally apologized stating that we just moved in and that my children were a little stir crazy from the 20+ hour drive hoping that building rapport with them would help our neighbors understand more about why our apartment may appear to be noisy. Approximately 1 hour after talking to them and while setting up our babies cribs for bed time, downstairs neighbor comes to my door complaining again. I apologized once again and explained we were trying to get their beds fixed so that we could put the kids to bed for the night. This event took place well within normal noise hours and certainly not past our designated quiet hours. A couple days later we were having a small get together with 2 adult friends and their 5 year old and our downstairs neighbors once again came up to complain about our footsteps. When we received our keys, a welcome pamphlet was handed to us with what you are expected to hear from your neighbors (which of course normal living sounds including footprints were included in this.) A letter was passed around to all units mentioning footprints were to be expected after the complaints we received. 1 week later we received a letter on our door (not even personally handed to us) with the header “noise violation” that stated “these occurrences tend to happen every day and throughout the afternoon/evening. Even though most of the noises happening are considered everyday living/everyday noise, we are still receiving multiple complaints about the volume and length of how long these disturbances last. Please make a conscious effort to keep these noise levels down.” This letter states these are everyday noises but yet has a noise violation header. We toured this apartment complex in November with the children. The office member did not make any implications that my children’s noise level in the model apartment that was empty was excessive or would be an issue for a second story apartment. I reached out to the office manager and she made statements such as you are doing nothing wrong, children will be children, you are not in noise violation despite receiving that letter, your neighbors are complaining multiple times but we just want to keep you guys aware of the complaints, the floors lack padding and insulation, the walls are thin, and that the neighbors were even offered a different unit and they declined to move in an attempt to make us feel better about our experience. On 1/30/2024, about 4 weeks after we have moved in, the manager came to assess the noise for the first time since we moved here because they are continuing to receive noise complaints from our neighbors (now apparently upstairs and downstairs). She said that my son is definitely the source of the “excessive noise” complaints- my 1 year old who began walking less than 3 months ago. This apartment complex may have a kids park, but it is surely not welcoming to small children who are going to make any type of noise. I would not recommend this apartment complex for families as most of the time it’s only the second and third floor apartments available and you risk the chance of having neighbors like ours. Of note, our own apartment vibrates when our upstairs adult neighbors walk around and make any movement. We even hear their complete conversations sometimes and we have even heard noises we would prefer not to hear but understand that just comes with apartment living and will happen with people residing above us. We have made conscious efforts ourselves to be respectful of our neighbors but it seems to not have made any difference especially when it’s the building itself."
"I currently live here in parkside grand and have been getting targeted every since we moved across the country from Colorado. 3 hours into moving in we already received a complaint about the movers bringing things in and my kids playing. We went to talk to the downstairs neighbors and told them we are still moving in and my kids have a lot of built up energy from being in the car for 20 hours. They continued to knock on the door complaining about my kids playing, we stated to them that they are just 1 and 2 they dont know any better at this stage in their life. We spoke with the property manager and she stated to us that theres really no way to control the kids playing in the house being that they are toddlers and that the downstairs neighbors can either transfer apartments or they can deal with it. They did not want to be transferred and are STILL complaining on us. As of 1/30/24 the property manager came to my apartment to observe and heard how heavy my 1 year old walks. She then suggested they come in to put carpet down to try and soften the foot steps. She mentioned that the complaints have started becoming excessive even though none of them are before 7 or after 10. Its a nice apartment complex but is definitely NOT KID FRIENDLY. We have only been here a month and have been targeted and pretty much labeled as noisy since day 1. We dont have parties nor do we have a lot of people at the apartment just simply my kids playing in the house. We’ve had talk after talk with management and nothing seems to get solved. IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN DO NOT MOVE HERE OR YOU WILL BE THE PROBLEM. MATTER FACT DONT MOVE HERE AT ALL."
"I really enjoyed living at these apartments before management was changed. the new management does not care even in the slightest about the residents here. She came in and saw people had curtains on their patios and made them get rid of them even though that was never stated in the lease that curtains weren’t allowed. my life was threatened by a neighbor and police got involved and still nothing was done. I was told I could move out if I wanted to but nothing else could be done. the maintenance crew is about the only good thing this complex has going for them anymore."
"It’s been a month since we moved here; and we like it. I read some bad reviews about this place being dirty and noisy. I think the apartment management is doing their best providing a pleasant experience for the tenants. Unfortunately, not all tenants are good and considerate. Overall, it’s quiet and have great amenities. The gym is nice and new; it has a sauna and nice bathrooms. Great location too."
"I lived here in 2021 and hopefully new management is better now. When I lived here there were tons of cockroaches inside and outside my apartment and sometimes on my front door. There are tons of silverfish inside the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. There were 4 power outages within months of living there and left with no AC for 24-48 hours. The fire alarm went off 5 times in the early morning sometimes 3:00a.m. Management never answers the phone or emails that are sent. The exterior and interior look beautiful in photos but in person it is all poorly built and just for looks. I'm so glad I moved out and I hope this review can be a warning to others. Avoid this place at all costs."
