Reviews of Sea Cove Resort & Marina
"Even going through most of the recent negative reviews we ended up here for 1 night as Florida keys packed due to long weekend and few rooms available at other properties price skyrocketed. 1. This is just a basic motel with no frills and thrills. 2. Location is great to nearest bars and restaurants. I would stay again if the price is right and I believe it must be $50/70 night, I paid $160 for just a room."
"First time at the Keys, let the others BAD reviews run you off cause I want my room back, lol .Pet friendly but No Floating rooms, they were taken out by a hurricane. This is some where clean and cozy. Our beds were clean and new, we like a sturdy mattress . Very clean rooms-no funky smells or bugs, 2 working ACs . Close to water to check out sunrise/sunset. Not your copy and paste hotel. Mom n pop run business- Jamie is AMAZING. Told us where to go for fun and he was right! We were in bungalow 9. We liked the 60s vibe the blue shower has-had towels and toiletries available for us and 4 plastic cups. We moved the couch closer to the TV for our comfort to put our feet up while we watch it. Plenty of room to bring your stuff in. There were no dressers , thats ok we kept our stuff in our bags. All the electric plugs worked. Heather is the nicest lady who have us our clean sheets and towels for the next day. She offered to make up our beds but we can do it. We saw the lagoon with cool fish and a racoon for our fur neighbor at the dumpster. We will stay here again."
"We chose this hotel last minute due to the price. When we arrived, we initially drove right past it as it is tucked away. We checked in right at 3:00PM and were given a free upgrade to a large bungalow versus the small one, which was unexpected, yet appreciated. We opened the door (turn key) and it immediately smelled old. We walked the room and could tell it was definitely older, but we did not mind. The bathroom was still the aged pink color - shower, walls, tile, etc. The shower pressure was very low and you could not really move the showerhead. Also, the toilet rocked significantly. There is a window unit to cool the place which initially took some time, but once it cooled down, it was pleasant. The room came with a mini fridge, but no microwave. We brought an air fryer and it worked out just fine for us. Sure, the beds are not the most comfortable and the tile is old, the room smells of age, but for a cheap rate, it is a great place to stay the night. Additionally. we were one of maybe three guests the entire time so the property was quiet, which is hard to come by in the keys. Overall, it is not the nicest of resorts, but it is a steal on price, close to everything, and quiet. We would stay here again."
"This place was absolutely disgusting. We were there for no longer than 10 minutes. There were roaches. It hadn't been cleaned in God only knows how long. When we looked under the sheets there were bed bugs. We had a toddler with us so we went to the front desk and said we can not stay here. They did nothing and would not return our money. Pls do not stay here because you will be taking critters home."
"On the plus side, the guy at the office was quite friendly, parking lot is huge and place is peaceful. You can just sit by the marina and quietly do fishing. On the downside, the sea cove boathouse rooms are just rooms adjacent to the marina area. The room was average, but is still a good option if you are just looking for a place to rest. Wifi is super weak and we were not able to connect. I do hope management will improve at least this. The best thing about this place though is it is just few minutes ride away from good places like Sunset Park, Island Fish Co restaurant and seven mile bridge."
