"After using Paul to file my taxes for several years, he stopped returning my emails, phone calls, and eventually refused to finish my taxes for 2022. Tax season this year fell during my military deployment, so I asked Paul for help from my deployed location due to an overpayment situation with my IRA accounts. He said he would help me, but then said he was busy with other clients, which led to me missing the deadline to move money out of these IRA accounts to fix the problem. He has unreliable office hours, and after struggling to reach him in his office after multiple phone calls from a poor Wifi connection in the Middle East, I respectfully expressed some frustration with his secretary. I explained that I was in a difficult situation, requested his actual office hours, and asked for him to return my emails. However, the next day I received an email saying he refused to work with me because of my repeated phone calls. I called his office the next day in an attempt to resolve this misunderstanding, and his secretary explained that he was in the office, but refusing to take my call, even for a minute- just to explain what's going on. This has forced me to start over, having to look for another CPA while forward deployed so that I can get my taxes filed. I assume he has more important (high paying) clients to worry about. Regardless, not returning my emails or even taking a minute to speak with me on the phone after employing his services for years is completely unacceptable. If you are looking for someone who is reachable on the phone during normal office hours and returns emails in a timely manner, I would strongly suggest you find someone else."
