Reviews of The Lauderdale Boutique Hotel
"It's late and I just pulled back the sheets. I found several hairs on the sheets. They ain't mine. Spent the first evening and part of the first morning looking for a remote for the air conditioning. It never came. Always emailing someone abroad became tiresome so I gave up. Entry code stopped working and that got me a little panicked but someone opened the door and was very pleasant. This place really has a nice feel. The designs too are nice but more IKEA and not too professionally done. Over all, what they need is an onsite manager."
"This is a self check in hotel, but the code they gave us didn’t work and their 24/7 helpline just went to voicemails. Finally someone contacted us from a foreign country, and we got into the room… just to find the sheets had stains and hairs. See photo. This was a very pricey hotel. My advice: stay at a chain you know."
"This was the biggest downside to our whole trip. We booked this through a travel agency. When we showed up the rooms are smaller than any motel 6. It's a bed a TV and a bathroom super tiny. We were supposed to have gotten a queen bed and it was more like a full. The area was very sketchy homeless people and people outside on the street at all hours of the night drinking and smoking. The check in process was difficult when we showed up I never received the email with check in instructions. There is nobody on-site to help. When I asked one of the maids for an extra towel I was told I had to call customer service. Coffee maker was broken. I highly recommend to stay somewhere else. Not to mention it was close to $1,300.00 for 5 days. You can hear everything the neighbors are doing in their rooms as well. Huge disappointment."
"When I scheduled this I didn't realize it was a short term rental. We arrived at 9:15 PM the door code didn't work. We went to the other door, code still didn't work, then we were joined by another couple that said it worked when they got here and they left for dinner now it doesn't work. After 15 minutes of frustration I got ahold of a lady on the phone who gave us a different code and we got in. She was very helpful and made sure we got into the room as well before hanging up. The bed was very comfortable. The TV has no instructions and seems to be never set up, Roku TV with no apps or cable. It's 50 inches but you can't watch it. I awoke to my husband cussing and making a lot of noise over a coffee pot with no instructions that after 20 minutes of listening to this I got up and Googled the instructions to this pot the cups don't fit under and made him a cup. It's expresso BTW. We improvised and added hot water. Also no kleenex. Just rough tp. The room is very tiny. But clean. Not a problem though if the TV was usable. A/C is loud"
"The property and rooms are very nice but don't be fooled - this is NOT a hotel! We made the booking via Priceline and got a couple of emails saying that the 'hotel' had a message but there was no link so we thought it could be figured out once we arrived. When we arrived we could not get into the property. It took an hour for us to go through the process to be able to get into the room. Then we find out that the room we booked was given to another party. The telephone number on their website connects you to the Philippines! That's how you verify your identity, and get the gate/room door code. The process requires texting ID, reading several pages of rules plus a $150 'security fee. There is no front desk, there is no ice machine, there is no service whatsoever. We spent 2 hours the following morning on the phone with the Philippines to be moved to the correct room. Late in that afternoon we discovered that there was no hot water in the room. And just to cap it all off, on the morning of the third day we packed, walked around the corner to get some coffee, then discovered that we could not get back into the room! Back on the phone to the Philippines!! They were no help because they didn't understand that the deadbolt on the door was stuck. Thank goodness that a window at the back had been left unlocked by the previous guests (since there is no hotel management, no one noticed that) so we climbed into the window and we were able to get our bags and get out of the place. The rooms are pretty, the property looks good (as long as you don't want to sit outside between 9 and 10 am when the sprinklers start up) but there is no way this place can be called a hotel. It is not a B&B either, it is just a newly renovated former apartment block in a seedy neighborhood with no management or service"
