"I never got past the rude, ignorant, inarticulate moron who answered the phone on 2/20/24 at 12:55pm. I literally just hung up on her she was so rude and unhelpful. What the hell are they doing there? Like for real. Replace that person with AI or with a literal sack of garbage- it will be a vast improvement. A sack of garbage is less offensive than the person who I just encountered. Terrible!"
"I was a patient for several years at the PG Clinic in Davie and was also treated by other specialists within the NSU dental clinics referred to them as part of my long treatment plan that was expensive for me without having insurance. When the extensive work was completed after 7 years. I went to the Faculty of Practice under the care of Dr. Elaine Lara to provide maintenance care. The work performed on my mouth by the PG Clinic residents was reasonably well done. But this review is about the then director of the PG Clinic, Dr. Ayria Amini. I was then and am until now a reserved and conservative lady past middle age. This dentist was in mid age years. Why do I mention this? Because Dr. Amini began to behave in a strange, passively harassing manner towards me that made me feel very uncomfortable and towards the end of my treatment I no longer wanted to go to the PG clinic. There were times when the dental technician would leave me unattended for long periods of time sitting in the patient's chair waiting for the resident who was in charge of my treatment to come. During those long waits, Dr. Amini more than once took the opportunity to enter the little room where they had me waiting, he leaned against the wall and began to stare at me for long periods of time of more than 20 minutes, without saying a word, he just kept his gaze fixed on me. I just felt very uncomfortable with my head down waiting for him to leave. I felt so uncomfortable that I didn’t want to continue going to that clinic because of Dr. Amini's harassing behavior. For that reason, I asked for a meeting with his superior. The day I went to the meeting, the superior had about twelve people sitting there waiting for me to arrive. He asked me to explain my experience to them. It was very humiliating that Dr. Amini’s superior had brought so many people to listen to my complaint. In retrospect, I realize that they did not take me seriously. It was just a circus for them at my expense. The only solution the superior offer was to refer me to the Faculty Practice dental clinic to complete my dental treatment. I chose Dr. Elaine Lara (not a resident) to complete my treatment. She finished the job and did it well. This week I called the Faculty Practice clinic to request an emergency appointment with Dr. Lara to extract a tooth that another dentist near my house recommended and gave me a referral, well, Moisés (the front desk employee at the Faculty Practice clinic) told me that after having asked Dr. Lara if she can give me an emergency appointment to extract the tooth because that area was infected, Dr. Lara's dehumanized response was that I am not welcome at her Faculty Practice Clinic because of the “issues” (that Dr. Amini caused with his passive harassment and I complained with his superior years prior) and because according to Dr. Lara I owed money and in addition according to Dr. Lara I had canceled 3 appointments in 3 years. But his staff also have canceled appointments I had with Dr. Lara. . I told Moises that I do not owe the dental clinics any money, I paid all in full and I had never received invoices from the clinics for unpaid services."
"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place to get dental care. They forced me to get procedures I did not want, forced me to get a CareCredit card or they would kick me out of the program. After they pulled all but 7 of my teeth(and NO PAIN MEDICINE) they forced me to get a bottom partial or they would not give me my top denture. I paid thousands of dollars for everything and they NEVER GAVE ME THE CORRECT DENTURE. I can't bite into anything only chew food. This experience traumatized me so much that even though I have dental insurance now, I am scared of going to a REAL DENTIST! I have completely lost my appetite because it IS PAINFUL TO EAT NOW!"
"I had a horrible experience there. They don’t just use you as guinea pig for their students , but they will take your money. And if you try contact them so they can resolve the problem, all they will say is “I’m sorry we are going to talk to them “ they took $45 that I had agreed with and another $85 that I didn’t. A total of $130 for nothing . I am getting my treatment somewhere else and I am happy with the work and upfront approach that they have."
"I have been with NOVA DENTAL and its students for years. They have all been wonderful! But I have been booted out. Not my decision either. Here’s why… I developed a cancer issue. Because of this issue I became very limited on my exposure to future radiation exposure which would include X-rays, headscans, bitewings as not to increase my cancer risk. I even had a doctors note saying so. So when it came time for x-rays, which they do way too many of them, my reluctant suggestion of just doing a few bitewing’s only- well after going back-and-forth with the dental student talking to the radiology department these suggestions were a total no and these following words, “ No head scans, no x-rays, no cleaning, no treatment.” Totally unsympathetic with zero compassion for my health concerns from either a Ms.G or a Ms.N in the radiology department. No one ever came to me from the radiology department to discuss this one on one. So you could say I was booted out of the dental clinic. Not my decision. The radiologist decision. Am I upset about this? Yes. I just want to end this to say to all the dental students that they were wonderful and may they all have great careers!"
