Reviews of Pediatric Dentistry of Florida, Dr. Tim Verwest DMD & Associates
"Unfortunately, we waited over an hour after we had to reschedule due to no dentist available. So after waiting an hour both kids go back alone, my child is fearful and shouldn’t have to be alone at 7 years old. How sad. Then they come out and I never once spoke to a dentist or heard how things even went. I was there two hours and have no clue what even went on."
"I left that place very worried because I believe that underage children should not be alone at any time or in any place. Upon entering, everything looked very nice, with video games and a beautiful decoration for the children. But what a surprise I had when they told me that I couldn't accompany my son inside the doctor's office. I didn't leave him alone for more than 5 minutes while I called my wife and confirmed with the reception staff that this was mandatory. The response was yes, it was mandatory for parents to stay outside, as it was a new rule imposed by the new doctor at the office. Immediately, I took my son out of there. Children are not only vulnerable to anything anywhere in the world, but they are also so innocent that you will never know what happened inside their mouths and what treatments they received. Please, let's take care of our children anywhere in the world, we should never take our eyes off them for even a moment."
"This entire review is coming from a paitent. I read the reviews because I was sure parents wouldn’t like the fact that parents aren’t allowed in with their children. I’m old enough to go in by myself so I don’t have an issue whether my mom goes in with me or not but I can understand why parents with younger kids would be upset with that rule. Anyways, the staff have always been really rough to the point I left with a really swore mouth after a cleaning something that has never happened to me at other dentist office. For a pediatric dentist I would expect the assistants to have more patience with younger kids but that seems to not be the case here. While I was getting my cleaning done there was a little girl who looked around 7 or 8 years old, she was also getting a cleaning. Tell me why the assistant who was taking care of her was being so nasty to the little girl? Literally slightly raising her voice at the little girl who was doing absolutely nothing wrong. After she finished the cleaning she backed away, took her gloves off in such an angry way slamming stuff and walked off. A nicer assistant came in and took her place and I didn’t see the other mean lady again. I can see why they still have the no parents allowed rule since no parent would allow a stranger to speak or treat their kid that way. I actually like going to the dentist but ever since i was switched to this one I’ve been dreading having to go whenever I have an upcoming appointment. My experience that day was alright, although the assistant who did my cleaning was sorta cold and rushed my cleaning which she hurt me a couple of times in the process. I don’t know maybe go to a different place because I have no idea what’s up with the assistants here."
"When my kids first started with them I was apprehensive about parents not being allowed in the back with kids but it was during Covid and combination of that and the fact that I do understand that kids do act better without the parents around and are more cooperative so I let it go. To date I have never met the dentist even when I have requested to but was told that they have already moved on to other patients, this has happened on a couple different visits. My youngest had a tooth pulled with the laughing gas and even at that time the dentist couldn’t even afford 2 minutes of their time to introduce themselves before or after the procedure so I’m not even sure who pulled the tooth? Me allowing this has been an error in judgement on my part. When they pulled the tooth they put in a space maintainer and gave no directions about anything. Since then the tooth has started to grow in and when I called 3 weeks ago to find out if the space maintainer needed to be removed they told me no that the tooth growing in would push it out, ok easy enough. I took my daughter to the orthodontist today (dentist office didn’t say anything about a referral to one but I knew she needs braces so I found one). Come to find out the space maintainer doesn’t fall out on its own and will need to be removed. I called the dentist office after leaving the orthodontist to ask since she has an appointment in 2 weeks can it be removed since their information is inaccurate and it won’t fall out on its own, they told me I need a referral to take it out and that’s it up to the Dr. I asked if I would be able to meet the Dr that day since I still have never met them and they told me that it’s up to the Dr. Since when have dr’s become so detached that they feel a parent doesn’t even warrant 2 minutes of their time and it’s only up to the Dr even when dealing with a minor? I have never been more unhappy with a provider office than I am with this one. If I could give negative stars I would."
"If I could give them a 0 ⭐️review, I would be more satisfied. Today my children had their 6-month follow-up, one of them is special needs, he is 7 years old and the other is 4, the assistant gave me a resounding NO “you cannot go with them back” its the office policy ,even if he is special needs, making derogatory movements with her eyes in allusion to my insistence, It is not easy for my son to communicate normally, imagine when he is nervous ,there is not the slightest possibility that my son goes alone with such unprofessional people and with so little patience. for this reason I canceled the appointment and call 2 other offices where they say they allow parents to accompany their kids. I do not recommend this place, staff with little patience and very dismissive."
