"For a company that deals exclusively with tax returns, this branch certainly did a terrible job. The first visit was a total waste of time, because they claimed that their system would simply not allow them to input me in to file anything. I sat there for two hours, before the employee told me that they would try to figure it out. They told me that since they didn’t work the following day, that they would tackle it when they got back in. The following day rolled around but I was never contacted. Instead of wasting more gas going in, I decided to call them directly. The next call was much the same. They said that because the digital system was having issues, that I would need to file a paper return. I told them that since that’s my only option according to them, to go ahead with it and I filed for an extension from the IRS. After filing for the extension, I tried to contact them to inform them of that fact but they simply did not take my calls. I finally got through to someone at 6:30pm, only to find out that the agent I had been working with had already gone home at 3. When I asked why no one had contacted me, I was told that they were still trying to figure out how to put me into the digital system. Odd, because I had specified to go ahead with a paper return, since I was told that was my only option. I asked them to please file a paper return and hung up. I called again the following day to find out if the paper return was even filed and the agent simply told me that no one told her to file it. When I asked why there was no communication, she got very irate with me, stating that she was very busy and that I was being irrational for being upset that she left at 3 (which I never even said). When I asked why no one contacted me, she told me that everyone in her office was aware of my case and it was my fault for not specifying to file a paper return. Again, odd, since they had told me that they didn’t know what was going on the previous day. Such a debacle, from customer intake, to communication, customer service, and I have yet to figure out if they even filed my taxes or not. Thankfully I have an extension. God only knows what repercussions I would have had to deal with if I wasn’t able to file for one. The sheer incompetence in dealing with me makes me question their ability to even file my taxes correctly. My confidence is certainly gone. I would highly recommend everyone to stay away."
"Buyer beware! The tax preparer was nice but just be sure to ask for a free estimate as I did not. To process four W-2’s it was $550, my wife and I both have two jobs. They did give us $100 off as they did not honor the 50% off promotion. Just so you are aware and not sticker shocked. Update in response to Jackson Hewitt comment, I tried to call and discuss as request but after I followed the telephone prompts for two days on three occasions, the phone disconnects after pressing zero and selecting the issue of the call. I appreciate the consideration, I am just trying to let people know to take advantage of asking for an upfront price. I did state upfront about the 50% off coupon, she didn’t know they didn’t take it until the finalized everything when the manager on the phone stated that."
"Service horrible . Never mentioned that the refund amount I was getting could be rejected and that I would still owe . Only got me $1500 and charged me about $580 over 35% of what I made . And did not take time plugging in write off information. Very dissatisfied and not happy with service or call back that I received . I would like the owner of the establishment to call me immediately before higher actions are taken."
"We have been customers of Jackson Hewitt for over 10 years and the primary reason is tax preparer Gretchen. Gretchen is knowledgeable, professional, eager to assist and highly intelligent."
"F#%ked up my tax return. The idiot that did them filed it wrong, not only did I have to pay them 400 to even do it but I got audited by the irs because they said they were filed wrong and they took a extra 400 from me. Would give negative stars if possible. Just shut your business down."
