Reviews of Glass America
"I am from Massachusetts and my windshield got damaged while vacationing in St.Augustine. My insurance company (Travelers) recommended Safelite and I had the worst experience of my life. Not knowing what to do I found Glass of America and I contacted Tammy. They handled my situation with high standard professionalism. I highly recommend them. Thank you for your great customer service."
"I used them for my back glass on my 2018 Silverado 2500hd. After install I went to pick my truck up and when I open my back door the door seal hits me. The door seal was hanging off the truck. I didn’t say anything and just pushed the seal back on as it is an easy fix and people make mistakes. I continue looking and I see that the headliner in the back is completely pushed up and bent. I try to pull it down with no success. The next day it started raining and I look back there to find water leaking in. They tell me they will send someone out. The same tech comes and he has a bad attitude and acted like I was lying until he seen it leak. He replaces it once again. He shattered the window on purpose to “get it out easily” and months later I still have my kids find glass in the back and give it to me. Fast forward 3 months and I break the glass again and call a different company. The new company comes and immediately tells me that whoever replaced it last time scratched my truck heavily and used black primer to cover it up (my truck is white). After he showed me, it’s all I can see and the paint is everywhere. The new company said they wouldn’t touch it because of how much glue was used and how much damage there was. I call glass America back and tell them the situation and they say they will send someone out to look at it. I requested not to have the same guy come again due to his attitude. Well, that’s who they send. When he shows up he immediately started with the attitude. The first thing he says is “oh you broke the window and want it for free”. I said “no I already filed a claim but they won’t do it due to the damage”. He responds with “your truck is hard to do without scratching it, and the primer only comes in black to cover it”. I told him that I wouldn’t accept that because that is his whole job, to replace windows and not damage them in the process. He got mad and said “well I can’t fix it here, I’ll tell them to call you”. He stormed to his van and actually spun off. Now three weeks later I have called everyday with no response, I live in Florida where it rains every day and my back glass is still busted and leaking. I have over $100k in this truck and it’s getting rained in and destroyed."
"Had an employee of Auto Glass America stop by and ask if we needed any auto glass repair work done. I said yeah we actually do. My wife Chevy Traverse front windshield has a crack on it. So we signed up and got the replacement scheduled. The work was done there days later, and then never heard anything else all done and good. So I didn’t expect to have anything happen. 5 months later I noticed my insurance went up , Didn’t think much of it then I checked back the next month it went up again and then again and then again. So I called my insurance company they took a couple days but they get back to me and they told me the following. Auto Glass America, sued us for more money. They charged over $1,200 for the replacement and we paid the bill according to your policy for the replacement $601.63. Progressive settled the case and paid their attorney $1,300 in return for dismissing the case. Now, as you can imagine, I was totally shocked, furious, mind blown! How can we sign up to have our window done They said they’ll take care of everything which we thought they did, they replaced the window all good and then they sue our insurance company for what??? And now we are struggling to pay these higher insurance payments! F these people!!!"
"The entire process has been pretty easy from the beginning. I was able to go online and receive my quote within two minutes. I then spoke with a representative on the Phone who scheduled an appointment and told me that I should hear from my technician by 930 day of my appointment. They were very knowledgeable. On the day of my appointment I received a text promptly at 9 AM with my technicians information. The technician, Neil, arrived on time and was very professional. He had the wrong size glass, but was very apologetic and empathetic and really made what could’ve turned out to be a bad experience, good. He put a temporary cover on the window so I’m able to drive it. It has been a smooth process so far and I look forward to the completion."
"Do you want a big problem and headache? Contact this company. In June 2021 my insurance contacted them to have my windshield replaced. The technicians came, and changing the windshield, it broke just finishing. They promised to replace it and a new technician came with the new glass. I made him see that the first technicians when they were removing it damaged the paint on my car. The technician called his boss and he promised me to repair all the damage, that someone would call me. They never did. I contacted them through emails and calls, and at such insistence they made me go to Gerber Collision (company of their consortium) to request a quote for the repair of the paint and glass. I went to their office, and it doesn't exist! Instead is a Gerber Collision office. And here I am, a year later WITH A BROKEN WINDSHIELD AND DAMAGED PAINT. Completely irresponsible. Right now I'm in talks with the insurance for the repair, which they shouldn't cover because they already paid for that glass work. And in conversations with a lawyer too. Moral: NEVER LOOK FOR THIS COMPANY. If I could put -stars, I have no doubt to put in."
