"In early Nov. 2022 I signed the contract for my estate sale.  This being my first time doing an estate sale I did question using a dumpster which was then crossed out by Mr. Slaughter as it was not needed.  Shortly after Thanksgiving I received a call where Mr. Slaughter wanted a dumpster and was willing to pay $250, half of the cost for the dumpster.  He indicated that it was necessary as he was unable to dispose of all the bags himself.   I questioned what he was removing and told him not to throw anything else away.  I said no to paying for a dumpster he then wanted 50% of the sales because he thought it was only a $2000 sale at most.  I traveled to the house shortly after Thanksgiving and found all the curtains open and most of the lights on.  Two of my glasses left dirty in the sink.  My linens were used to cover tables and my green garbage bags had items tossed into them.  More items were in closets, cabinets and bags than what was out to sell.   The next day he came over to bring me the key and I told him he would not be doing the sale.  I wasn't finished clearing off the tables so could not give him his tables.  Told him this was not how to conduct an estate sale, showed him how things were just tossed into bags.  He then told me he was going to bill me $1,020 for his time.  I told him I wasn't paying him.  Next day he had the police at the door to collect his tables.  He then put a lien on the property.  I filed to contest it and the lien was eventually dropped do to him not filing legal action to collect.  He did dispose of some items.  A grill he said was rusted.  A tall red glass vase and some other items.  Items tossed into bags were damaged and a few thing broken.  I also found papers I had gathered together relating to the house in a garbage bag. I recommend using someone else to do your estate sale. **Update** The discussion about clearing it out was regarding him knowing someone who would buy what was left and take everything left. Regarding items I removed, I told him I wasn't finished separating things and showed him what wouldn't be part of the sale. One item I know I said wasn't part of the sale he didn't remember. The lamp I don't remember if I told him that wasn't part of the sale or not. Regarding offering him $50 and the gun. I did offer $50 he said no. I then offered the gun. He declined. They were sperate offers not combined. I I have lots of pictures to prove that it wasn't just papers and broken items. The one ramekin was broken from being tossed in the bag the other was undamaged.
