"We can only share our experiences, and regrettably, my experience with "PeacefulSplit" has been an unmitigated disaster. Specifically, Eric drafted a parenting agreement that fails to meet the standard of an appropriate parenting arrangement. Based on feedback from multiple lawyers, my agreement should never have been approved by the judge. I am not a lawyer, and I don’t go through divorce annually, so it would have been impossible to know these things and why multiple sources of feedback are important. The problem with my parenting agreement is that while it outlines shared parenting time (25%), it lacks specificity regarding dates, pick-up and drop-off times, vacations, and so forth. From the outset, my ex-wife chose not to honor my requests to see my child. Over time, this disregard has intensified to the point where my role as a father seems optional rather than obligatory. In essence, while we recognize a "wrong" has occurred, the challenge is one of enforceability. When I approached the police, their response was, "Well, your agreement doesn't specify times/days." The situation deteriorated to such an extent that about nine months ago, I had to hire a lawyer to re-litigate the case. My advice for anyone in a similar situation is to steer clear of Peaceful Mediation. Instead, hire your own attorney, but refrain from bickering over trivial matters. The advantage of having an attorney is securing someone who will prioritize YOUR interests. Concurrently, YOU should be mindful of managing costs and avoiding exacerbating issues. Life offers no guarantees. As such, one cannot be "certain" that Peaceful Mediation is the best route. Invest a bit more upfront to potentially save yourself significant future troubles."
