"Our initial consultation with Nick Troiano was great. It took us a couple of months to decide how to proceed, but we eventually reached out and inquired about hiring him. He said he could take us on as clients and that his office would reach out to us to pay his retainer. He was surprisingly casual about an upcoming deadline we had approaching, but we decided to trust our initial impressions of him. In the end, no one contacted us for payment and each time we reached out to the office no one could tell us what the next steps were to pay this and get moving on our case. All of a sudden it was very difficult (but not impossible) to get in touch with him. We ended up having to scramble last minute to retain a different attorney and the entire situation was unnecessarily more stressful than it should have been. To this day, we aren't sure what happened, but we are very glad we didn't pay that retainer they never contacted us about. Note: Our interactions with Mr. Troiano were in 2021."

He made an assumption about my character and my morals before I could actually just ask a simple question that had nothing to do with what he was talking about.
