Reviews of RaceTrac
"The employee here that drives this car is responsible for locking all the doors during peek morning hours, because this employee rather sleep and not wait on customers. At least once a month this idiot locks up shop and goes to sleep in the back."
"Great coffee bar with a variety of blends and tons of flavored creamers. Clean with decent bathrooms. Fuel prices were competitive, and there were plenty of pumps, which reduced the wait times. Window washing squeegee's were available."
"There aren't a lot of places in Davenport you can get everything you need. But here, I've found cheap gas, cheap booze and great customer service. Please come see Jared and Jhared. They are so much fun and I always feel better when I leave there after a bad day. So go visit! Tell them Alli sent you!"
"The reason for the "pay at the pump" was to make fueling a vehicle quicker, so customers could quickly gas and go. The Gilbarco machine (the gas pump) has the ability to fuel up your vehicle, charge your credit/debit card, and print out a receipt (for those running a business, the receipt is extremely important). The intent of this was to move more customers through the pumping area, making the convenience store more money on gasoline sales. Unfortunately, this facility rarely has register tape in the Gibarco machine, which then causes customers to inconveniently walk into the store to retrieve a receipt from a cashier. I have pumped here three days in a row, none of the three pumps I fueled up at had tape and each time I've had to waste valuable work time to go inside for my receipt. Today I had to wait 19 minutes in line! (A Waste of 47 minutes over the last three days.) Each time I have told them the machine is out of tape. Two days in a row, I was given the excuse that it just ran out. Today the response from the cashier was, "It happens". I drive for a living, so time in line is a waste of time and money for both me and the INconvenience store. I am wasting time standing in a 20 minute line when I could be on the road making money. While the store is losing money while my car (and other inconvenienced customers) leave their cars at the pumps, walk inside, and wait in with customers wanting to purchase products- taking up the pump that another customer... or two.. or three... or 10... could have pumped gas at, retrieved their receipt, and left (like the pump was designed for). The $10 extra dollars you think you might make from having a customer come in for their receipt is chump change to the amount of money you could have been making from customers fueling up and leaving with convenience at the pump. Most customers don't want to wait for a pump to open up and leave when they see cars just sitting at pumps without people in them. The manager should be fired for their business model, since you are losing money, upsetting customers, and not using the very expensive machines that Racetrac invested in at time of build. Oh, and I watched a Racetrac employee walking around with a bucket in one hand, their personal phone in the other hand and a trash grabber tucked under their arm - if the correct working order and appearance of the business was a real concern and objective, that employee could have walked around and checked all the Gilbarcos for register tape and replaced as needed. Their personal phone and social media was more important than customer service/retention. Instead, excuses and inconvenience are the business model for this store. Racetrac, Inc should be appalled by this. I believe Wawa's will be receiving my business instead."
"Got in and out quickly, place seemed reasonably clean. They do need more people on register. The self check out helps considerably, but they really ought to be doing that themselves."
