Accelerated Accounting fka Tanner Tax Service

"BEWARE! If I could give Zero stars I would. James Thomasson did my 2022 tax return in October of this year. I had never used him before. He had already quoted me the cost by phone before I met with him. When he completed my return, he asked for $100 more. I reminded him what he had quoted me, and he agreed to that price. He then pointed out that a deduction on my 2021 return had been missed. I asked him to amend the return, which he agreed to do for an additional $100. I paid him in advance, which I shouldn't have done. He never did the work. He wouldn't respond to phone messages or an email I sent. Looks like he found a way to get that extra $100. The company's location in Pensacola is fairly new, and his primary location is in Mobile. He obviously doesn't care about his reputation here in Pensacola. I am probably going to have the work he did reviewed by a CPA, as I have no reason to trust him. I am filing complaints with the BBB in Mobile and in Pensacola, and pursuing whatever options I have to get my money back. I really feel sorry for him if he needed $100 that much."

"My dad has used Tanner Tax Service for over 15 years now. He absolutely loves them, and will likely never switch to a different company. They used to do my taxes as well, and I can remember it being an incredibly easy process. I never had to go to their office more than 2 or 3 times per year, and they took care of all the hard/complicated stuff. I guess they changed their name to Accelerated Accountants (or something like that) now. My dad just finished his taxes with them and he said it’s mostly the same accountants as before. They still have all his old tax records, and even a few old ones of mine, even though I haven’t filed my taxes with them in over 8 years now. Since they’re a small local business and not a big corporate chain - they can customize and tailor everything to what your actual needs are much better than the big chain companies can. And there’s always someone local that you can talk to if you have questions."
