"The scooter repair shops of Gainesville are shady businesses, and this one is no different. Shop mechanic Brandon is experienced but will look for any opportunity to hike the price of your repair. Beware of unnecessary and/or unapproved repairs (you will have to pay for labor even if you did not approve it, and they will wait a month to make a repair if you dispute this point). If you have time, take a day to look online for an honest mechanic before taking your scoot to the shop. Reddit works great for this. Also, they might say your repair will be cheap on the phone ($100 or so). They say this to pull you in, then pile on ridiculous fees to a total of at least $200, most often $400 or more. Proceed with caution."
"I had my scooter picked up by them because I had their business card and they have free pick ups. Long story short, the owner, Tony, is a misogynistic, rude, manipulative, and greedy individual. He called me “too stupid to understand” and confused. as well as tried to scam me by changing his story with every sentence until i had my dad call him. Mind you, after this he lowered the price by half. I took my scooter last week, three days later it broke down again, they claimed cables had “been cut and gone missing.” Also when i went to pick it up the whole garage was closed and i had to have my dad call him to ask if he was even there. i wouldnt show my face after that little act either Edit: Funny how i still havent heard the same story twice. funny how i got a reaction out of him when i pointed out he kept changing his answers and requested for his statement in writing. thank god for those free pick ups tho right lol sorry my female brain is too stupid and devolved to understand such a complex subject"
"Had a great experience with Gator Scooter Repair today. I was panicking this morning as my daughter's scooter had a flat tire and I had no way of getting it anywhere to get it fixed, and that's how she's gets to school. I called Gator Scooter Repair about 10:30 am, they told me they pick up for free and could probably get the scooter fixed today. They picked the scooter up about 1 pm, fixed the scooter tire (and a couple other things that needed to be looked at, since it was there) and at my request brought the scooter back to my daughter about 8 tonight (small fee for bringing it back to my daughter's apt complex). Really nice people and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!"
"My one time experience with this place was worth both time and money. Tony pays close attention to ALL of his clients. He explains the work and issues he has done/found to your moped.(in terms and ways you'll understand ☆. The services I received and attention to detail I couldn't have asked for better!!! He's straight up professional and is very professional. You'd have to be an moronic imbecile to trust your moped to anyone else. Crystal Gale Tony you're a magic man on mopeds!! Thanks again"
"went in for simply 2 tire changes (btw i provided the tires). look at pics. they right side rear tire alignment locknuts are crooked (compare to 2nd pic on right). i told the technician i needed a front alignment he said yup. i said i want my wheels trued and he said yup. they didnt rebalance my tires and told me that they use glass beads (which is true) but they left the old metal weights on (you cant have both so something is a lie) and you have to rebalance a rim every new tire bc not every tire is molded equally. furthermore they charged me a 100$ diagnostic fee but there was nothing to diagnose. i said told them i only needed two tires, nothing mechanical. they justified it by saying they do a safety check but obviously that was on the back burner. when i called ab the trueing they said they only do that on request but i told them i needed it and not only, they told me upfront they do it without charge. in total i paid 576 (remember i provided my own tires). TLDR: malpractice and they didnt want to own up to it. use youtube and do it yourself. i was in a time pinch."
