"I had the drivers side rear door glass smashed out on my 2022 MDX by vandalism. I had been travelling and so it was very difficult to deal with when I was 500 miles from my destination. I patched it up with some cardboard and duct tape and made it to my destination. I then took the vehicle to Gettel Acura in Sarasota. The service advisor (Madison Quinn) dealt with my insurance company and got the glass replaced promptly for me."

"Absolutely the worst car buying experience of my life! I can’t stress enough how bad the sales division of this Acura dealership really is. I should have walked out the moment I was told I had to wait 19 days to take delivery of my vehicle due to a hold from Acura corporate. I then gave a deposit and was told financing was all in order. For two weeks I never had any contact! I had to call them on a car I was paying over market for to arrange my delivery day. Then once I show up they have nothing ready to go. Let me remind you, they had 19 days to prepare. I arrive to see a car that was supposed to be ready sitting in detail. Then upon inspecting it find a large scratch on the rear of the car! I understand things happen, but it’s how they get handled that matters. I’ve been in the exotic car business for 23 years, so I understand how a customer deserves to be treated. Even the owner of this group Mr. Jim Gettel has been a customer of mine. He should be ashamed of the representation from the sales team. The scratch was handled in a very poor manner. The car was painted in the parking lot! A brand new car that I just paid over market painted in a parking lot. Upon arrival to reclaim my vehicle once again the paint work was horrible. I was told it would go to a reputable body shop. Instead they decide to have the same person do it again. I wasn’t ok with that! That wasn’t what was agreed on. So then I am told they found a body shop that will take the car apart and fix it. I wait two weeks and never hear from them. I reach out to them by email and get a call 10 min later saying your car is ready. Meanwhile they also have a warranty part needed for the car that’s on back order. That’s not entirely their fault but again this is a brand new higher end ‘24 model. I take the car home and oh my the entire car is covered in overspray. Odd huh it was supposed to be painted off the car. Not only that there are paint lines that prove the car was not painted as stated. I spent an entire weekend removing paint lines and over spray from my brand new car. This is something no customer should have to do! At this point I had no faith in them doing it correctly. I have even had to reach out to Acura corporate due to the lack of satisfaction in the matter. The communication and representation for Mr. Gettel and the Acura brand is atrocious. Especially being the first of this new car to come into this dealership. The care and compassion for the customer just doesn’t exist here. I’m one very unhappy customer! I’d highly recommend using a different dealership if in the market for an Acura!"
